At the time when conducting this authentication, measurement is made upon a time-period up to arrival of a receipt confirmation responding to the transmission of an authentication request or a response to the authentication; then, only in the case when this value measured does not exceed a predetermined upper value, the transmission is conducted on the contents encrypted, and at the same time, address information and equipment information unique to the apparatus are registered, thereby conducting the transmission of encrypted contents, but without conducting the time-measurement thereon, when transmitting the contents, again. Also, while conducting the time-measurement periodically, dynamic management is made on the registration information, so that the contents thereof are suitable for the network structure at the present.

摘要： A video signal input-output circuit and a recording-reproduction apparatus in which a digitally compressed video signal input in packet form can be recorded and reproduced efficiently and in stable fashion. In this apparatus, a clock reference is detected from a packet signal containing the clock reference and a digitally compressed video signal, a time stamp for a packet is generated using a clock signal in phase with the clock reference and added to the particular packet, and the packet signals with the time stamp added thereto are recorded closely to each other in a data storage element such as a magnetic recording medium. At playback, the packet interval is output by being restored to the original length on the basis of the time stamp added to the packet in store.

摘要： This invention enhances usability while performing copy control when recording a digital broadcast program specified as “Copy One Generation”. In this copy control method, digital contents received by a first recording apparatus are copied to a second recording apparatus via a network interface and to a third recording apparatus via a local interface according to the copy control information received by the first recording apparatus. When the received control information indicates “Copy Free with Limit of the Number” permitting a predetermined copy number of multiple copies, the received digital contents can be recorded and managed in the first recording apparatus to be copied up to the predetermined copy number. The digital contents copied to the second recording apparatus are managed as “No More Copies”, and the digital contents copied to the third recording apparatus are managed as “No More Copies and No Move”.
