    Abstract: An improved method and apparatus for producing ferro-alloys from ore in which an ore is first mixed with a solid reducing agent, preheated and pre-reduced in a rotary kiln, and smelted in an electric furnace, in which the pre-reduced ore is heated by a burner provided in the electric furnace where it is also reoxidized. The ore is also heated in the rotary kiln by recycled gas.

    Abstract: The generator comprises an envelope and two mirrors defining a resonant cavity, in which is maintained a monolithic wave-guide with a capillary. The capillary is formed in a thinned portion of the guide. Two electrodes extend over the thinned portion of the guide. The capillary is circular in cross section, this being obtained by drilling or extrusion of a cylindrical bar made of dielectric material. The circulation of the laser gas is excellent and the laser plasma uniform. The generator has multiple applications, for example in the medical field.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an aqueous impregnating resin solution containing (A) between 77.5 and 99.8 wt. %, in relation to the impregnating resin solution, of aqueous condensates based on melamine and formaldehyde; (B) between 0.1 and 20 wt. %, in relation to the impregnating resin solution, of at least one specific quaternary ammonium compound; and (C) between 0.1 and 2.5 wt. %, in relation to the impregnating resin solution, of an aqueous hardener solution.
