    摘要: A gas laser has a capillary which is supported inside a jacket tube by a resilient arrangement, which includes a spring washer having radially extending fingers extending from an annular portion having an axial aperture which is received on a cylindrical portion of a flange ring of the arrangement. The flange ring is soldered to the capillary tube with a glass solder in a manner which prevents the spring washer from coming in contact with the glass solder to change the properties of the spring washer.

    摘要: An integral mirror type laser system which produces miltiline emissions simultaneously and which is adapted for use in optical data processing systems. In particular, in a first embodiment, a unitary positive column laser comprises two sections, the first section comprising a positive column helium-cadmium laser, the second section comprising a positive column helium-neon laser, the first and second sections being coaxially aligned and having different inner diameters. Simultaneous excitation in the two different sections provides optimum excitation for red laser light, produced by the helium-neon section and blue laser light produced by the helium-neon-cadmium section. The present system also allows separate cadmium vapor pressure control by separately controlling the vaporization temperature of the cadmium and also allows confinement of the cadmium vapor whereby the vapor does not contaminate one of the optical windows which confines the active laser medium. By proper selection of the optical cavity parameters, simultaneous red and blue laser oscillations can be obtained for application in any optical data processing system that requires a red and blue laser radiation source. In a second embodiment, the helium-cadmium section is replaced by with a helium-selenium section whereby the tandem laser system is capable of producing multiline laser radiation in the red, blue and green colors.

    摘要: In a coaxially constructed gas laser with a capillary fused at one end to the glass casing surrounding it and enclosed at its free end by a supporting spring the supporting spring contains a perforated disc of a material adapted thermally to the jacket glass and is framed by a shrunk-on jacket constriction. Such a mount is extraordinarily stable mechanically and thermally. In a preferred embodiment the supporting spring is a multipart spring: attached to the thermally adapted perforated disc are two other, smaller perforated discs consisting of a spring material of temperature constancy and containing the actual spring elements.

    摘要: In a gas laser tube including a laser capillary tube having one fixed end secured to the envelope surrounding the capillary tube and one free end. A support structure for the free end comprising a discharge diverting tube extending from the envelope toward and overlapping the free end of the laser capillary tube and a coil spring interposed between the free end portion of the laser capillary tube and the inner wall of the discharge diverting tube. The free end portion of the capillary tube is supported resiliently by the coil spring and the capillary tube is kept straight without bending or vibrating while absorbing the elongation of the capillary tube caused by thermal expansion.
