摘要： A power sander (2) having a housing (4) and a motor within the housing is disclosed. A gripping portion adapted to be engaged by a hand of a user of the sander comprises blister packs (30), (36) comprising first and second flexible sheets defining a gel-containing chamber therebetween and containing a vibration damping gel material, the first and second sheets being sealed to each other at the periphery of each gel-containing chamber. Clamping plates (34), (40) include a body portion and pins (not shown) adapted to extend through the periphery of a corresponding blister pack and to protrude inwardly of the surface of the housing (4). The pins are then deformed by means of heat or ultrasound to secure the clamping plates (34), (40) to the housing (4).

摘要： A handle assembly for a power tool 1 comprises a housing 2 defining a handle 4 and housing a motor for actuating an output member of the tool, such as a drill bit or jigsaw blade. The handle assembly comprises at least one flexible sheet 8 adapted to be mounted to a surface of the handle of the power tool and having a series of protrusions 10 adapted to be engaged by a hand of a user of the tool. The protrusions 10 retain at least one gaseous vibration damping material such as air between the flexible sheet 8 and the surface of the handle 4.

摘要： A jigsaw having a housing 4,6 and a support shoe 38 pivotable relative to the housing is disclosed. A bridge member 42 is mounted to the support shoe 38 and is connected to a connector piece 44 to define a conduit for transporting air from a duct in the housing, connected to a fan for cooling a motor in the housing, to a location at which a jigsaw blade of the jigsaw cuts through a workpiece. Actuation of a trigger 10 on the housing supplies power to a motor in the housing, which causes reciprocating motion of the jigsaw blade, and causes the fan in the housing to expel air through bridge member 42. Air is directed from bridge member 42 onto the jigsaw blade in a direction transverse to a line of cutting action of the jigsaw. This enables 10 the outlet of bridge member 42 to be located very close to the jigsaw blade without obscuring the user's view of the blade, and blows dust away from the line to be cut by the jigsaw 2.
