    摘要: Aspects of a method and system for SFBC and/or STBC using interference cancellation are presented. Aspects of an exemplary system may enable rate 5 4 coding in diversity communication systems that utilize SFBC and/or STBC. A transmitting station may utilize SFBC or STBC to generate and/or concurrently transmit a plurality of signals symbols, which are encoded to enable rate 5 4 transmission. A receiving station may decode rate 5 4 encoded signals utilizing various methods to achieve interference cancellation. The interference cancellation may cancel at least a portion of intersymbol interference, which may occur among symbols in the received rate 5 4 encoded signals. Various methods may be utilized to compute estimated values for at least a portion of the symbols. These methods may include the class of linear estimation methods, such as minimum mean squared error (MMSE) estimation.

      摘要: Transmission coordination within multiple user, multiple access, and/or MIMO wireless communications. Within wireless communication systems, there can be various wireless communication devices therein that are not all compliant with a common capability set, communication protocol, communication standard, recommended practice, etc. For example, some communication systems may have some wireless communication devices characterized as ‘legacy’ wireless communication devices, and other wireless communication devices therein may be newer and compliant with newer capability sets, communication protocols, communication standards, recommended practices, etc. In such instances, coordination of transmissions among the various wireless communication devices may be made, when performing simultaneous transmissions, by ensuring that transmissions of devices on different channels is made when aligned on a common boundary of an OFDM symbol. Alternatively, such simultaneous transmissions may be made when offset by some multiple of OFDM symbol duration. When performing non-simultaneous transmissions, transmissions may be made based on channel availability.

In one aspect of the invention, Givens matrices may be utilized to reduce a quantity of information communicated in explicit feedback information via an uplink RF channel. The explicit feedback information may include specifications for a feedback beamforming matrix that may be utilized when transmitting signals via a corresponding downlink RF channel. The feedback beamforming matrix may represent a rotated version of an un-rotated matrix. The Givens matrices may be utilized to apply one or more Givens rotations to un-rotated matrix. The rotated matrix may reduce the quantity of information communicated in the explicit feedback information. The quantity of information communicated in the explicit feedback information may be further reduced by utilizing tone grouping.

The interference cancellation matrix, also referred to as a matched filter, may enable a composite signal (Y) to be represented as a plurality of subsidiary signals (yi), each of which is transmitted by the node B for reception at a corresponding ith UE station. Each of the subsidiary signals yi may be generated based on a corresponding one of a plurality of data stream signals (xi). The processor may enable generation of a precoding matrix (WT) based on the interference cancellation matrix. A transmitter within the node B may enable generation of a plurality of signals based on the preceding matrix. The signals may be transmitted via a wireless communication medium.

      摘要: A method and system for multiband user scheduling in a multiple user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) communication system are presented. In one aspect of the method and system a plurality of users in a user group may be selectively assigned to individual frequency bands among a plurality of frequency bands (referred to as a multiband). In an exemplary aspect, a modified greedy user scheduling algorithm may be utilized for assigning users, selected from the user group, to each of the frequency bands. Assigned users for a given frequency band are determined based on channel norm values computed for each of the users in the user group and on chordal distances computed between users in the user group. Pairs of users, selected from the user group, are assigned to each frequency band in the multiband to maximize aggregate data rate capacity for the MIMO communication system.
