摘要: A cannula for transferring a substance to and/or from a patient includes a rigid, tubular support sleeve, an inner sleeve, a transfer tube, and a conformal polymeric sleeve. The support sleeve defines a support sleeve lumen extending from a first opening at a proximal end of the support sleeve to a second opening at a distal end of the support sleeve. The support sleeve includes a rigid, MRI-compatible material. The inner sleeve is disposed in the support sleeve lumen and extends beyond the distal end of the support sleeve to a distal end of the inner sleeve. The inner sleeve defines an inner sleeve lumen. The transfer tube is disposed in the inner sleeve lumen and extends to or beyond the distal end of the inner sleeve to a distal end of the transfer tube. The transfer tube defines a transfer tube lumen terminating at an opening at the distal end of the transfer tube. The conformal polymeric sleeve surrounds at least a portion of the support sleeve and at least a portion of the inner sleeve. The conformal polymeric sleeve includes a transitional section extending from the distal end of the support sleeve and over the inner sleeve in a direction toward the distal end of the inner sleeve. The transitional section tapers inwardly in the direction toward the distal end of the inner sleeve.

摘要: Systems for treatment include a sheath assembly with a guide sheath and a shoulder, a stylet releasably couplable to the guide sheath and extending a distance out of a distal end thereof for rigidity to facilitate proper positioning, a bolt configured to hold a seal member, a bolt nut coupleable to the bolt member to clamp the sheath assembly and the seal member in the bolt. A therapy device such as a flexible catheter is releasably interchangeably held in the guide sheath in lieu of the stylet. A portion of the flexible catheter can remain in the guide sheath in a brain of a patient with the guide sheath held by the bolt and bolt nut with another external portion residing outside these devices to allow the portion of the flexible catheter to move with the brain of the patient during treatment.

摘要: Devices for transferring fluid to or from a subject include an extension tube assembly with an axially extending inner tube configured to couple to an elongate tubular cannula having opposing proximal and distal ends with an axially extending lumen and an axially extending inner tube. The inner tube extending through the tubular cannula defines an exposed needle tip and is in fluid communication with the inner tube of the extension tube assembly. The needle tip extends out of a distal end of the tubular cannula a suitable distance.

摘要: A trajectory frame/guide assembly for use with surgical navigation systems includes a base having a patient access aperture formed therein. A yoke is mounted to the base and is rotatable about a roll axis. A platform is mounted to the yoke and is rotatable about a pitch axis and interchangeably holds a single lumen or multi-lumen guide array and a device guide. No x-y actuators are required and a virtual guide array may also or alternatively be used to identify a desired open channel in the device guide for the preferred trajectory path.
