Abstract: A feed network for a multi-beam antenna is provided, including a first beam port, a second beam port, a beam-forming network coupled to the beam ports, and a cancellation circuit. The cancellation circuit is coupled to the first beam port and the second beam port before the beam-forming network. The cancellation circuit extracts a portion of a RF signal on the first beam port, adds phase delay, and injects the extracted, delayed signal from the first beam port onto the second beam port, and extracts a portion of a RF signal on the second beam port, adds phase shift, and injects the extracted, delayed signal from the second beam port onto the first beam port. In one example of the invention, the cancellation circuit comprises a first directional coupler on a first beam input path, a transmission line, a second directional coupler on the second beam input path.

Abstract: A high-band radiator of an ultra-wideband dual-band basestation antenna is disclosed. The high-band radiator comprises at least one dipole, a feed stalk, and a tubular body made of conductive material and having an annular flange. Each dipole comprises two dipole arms made of conductive material. The feed stalk feeds the dipole and comprises a non-conductive dielectric substrate body and conductors formed on the substrate body to function as a balun transformer. The feed stalk is connected with the dipole at one end and has at least one feed connector at the other, with the conductors coupled there-between. The tubular body is adapted for electrical connection through the annular flange to the ground plane at the open end; the body is short-circuited at the other end to define an internal cavity of the tubular body. At least a portion of the feed stalk is disposed within the tubular body.

Abstract: Ultra-wideband dual-band cellular dual-polarization base-station antennas and low-band radiators for such antennas are disclosed. The low-band radiator comprises a dipole and an extended dipole configured in a crossed arrangement, a capacitively coupled feed connecting the extended dipole to an antenna feed, and a pair of auxiliary radiating elements. The dipole comprises two dipole arms, each of approximately λ/4, for connection to the antenna feed. The extended dipole has anti-resonant dipole arms of approximately λ/2. The auxiliary radiating elements are configured in parallel at opposite ends of the extended dipole. The radiator is adapted for the frequency range of 698-960 MHz and provides a horizontal beamwidth of approximately 65 degrees. The dual-band base-station antenna comprises high-band radiators configured in at least one array and low-band radiators interspersed amongst the high-band radiators at regular intervals.
