    摘要： The present disclosure relates to a surgical fastener applying apparatus (10) for sequentially applying fasteners to body tissue. The apparatus includes a clamping half-section (12) having a distal anvil attachment portion (12b) and a proximal handle portion (12a), a cartridge receiving half-section (14) having a handle portion (22) and an elongated channel portion (24), the elongated channel portion being configured to releasably receive a single use loading unit and the handle portion being configured to releasably receive a firing assembly (20), an anvil member (16) configured to be releasably supported within the distal anvil attachment portion of the clamping half-section and a firing assembly configured to be releasably supported within the handle portion of the cartridge receiving half-section.

    摘要： A fastener applying apparatus (20) includes an anvil half-section (100) and a cartridge receiving half-section (200) having a distal portion dimensioned to releasably receive a single use loading unit (“SULU”) (400) and a proximal portion configured to support a firing assembly (500). The firing assembly includes a stationary housing (502) and a firing lever (516) having one or more lever guide projections (522). The firing lever is slidable from a proximal end of the stationary housing to a distal end of the stationary housing to define a firing stroke. A clamping lever (300) is movable from an undamped position to a clamped position to releasably secure the distal anvil portion in close approximation with the SULU. The clamping lever defines one or more lever guide slots (316). The lever guide projection(s) is positioned to enter the lever guide slot(s) upon initiation of the firing stroke to inhibit movement of the clamping lever to the undamped position during the firing stroke.

Alternatively, the lockout structure prevents full insertion of the firing assembly into the cartridge receiving half-section, if the single use loading unit is not engaged with the firing assembly.

    摘要： A surgical fastener applying apparatus includes anvil (12′) and cartridge half-sections (14′)and a clamping lever. The cartridge half-section defines an elongated channel member having a distal portion for releasably receiving a single use loading unit (SULU) and a proximal portion for supporting a firing assembly. The firing assembly (20′) includes a stationary housing (26′) having a plurality of spaced-apart protrusions (27′) disposed along a length thereof, a firing lever (50), and a cam bar (46). The protrusions are releasably engagable within spaced-apart apertures (17′) defined within the channel member to releasably secure and align the firing assembly within the channel member. The clamping lever is operably associated with the half-sections and is movable from an undamped position to a clamped position to releasably secure an anvil portion of the anvil half-section in close approximation with the SULU. In the clamped position, the firing lever is actuatable to translate the cam bar to eject staples from the SULU.
