Abstract: The invention relates to a motor compressor assembly of the type used for small refrigerating machines. It involves a construction for forming noise-reducing chambers wherein the chambers are formed between recesses in a central bore of the casing and a cup shaped element inserted in the central bore. Grooves are formed in the central bore which are covered by the peripheral wall of the insert and the grooves form passages connecting the noise reducing chambers.
