Abstract:
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A NOISE REDUCING ASSEMBLY FOR A REFRIGERATION UNIT OF THE HERMETICALLY SEALED TYPE. THE ASSEMBLY INCLUDES WALLS FORMING A HEAT INSULATING CHAMBER SURROUNDING THE NOISE REDUCING CHAMBER WITH A SUBSTANTIALLY STATICALLY CONTAINED GAS IN SAID HEAT INSULATION CHAMBER.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a lubricating system for a motor compressor assembly. The assembly has an oil sump and the motor compressor unit has vertically extending shaft means with a central lubricating bore, the lower part of the shaft means being disposed in the sump with the mouth of the bore being in fluid communication with the lubricating oil in the sump. The mouth of the shaft bore is provided with a propeller to effect an increased rate of lubricating oil delivery.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a motor compressor assembly of the type used for small refrigeration machines. The assembly has an outer casing in which a motor compressor unit is suspended by springs. The springs are of the spirally wound type and are disposed, in vertical planes, between the motor compressor unit and the casing.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method of assemblying a piston compressor in which the crankshaft and cylinder bores have intersecting right angled axes. The piston and connecting rod assembly is provided with a universal joint therebetween and a bearing surface having a closed wall at the opposite end of the connecting rod. The piston-connecting rod assembly is initially inserted into the cylinder followed by introducing the crankshaft into the crankshaft bore. By utilizing the piston-connecting rod universal joint the connecting rod bearing can be maneuvered into a position for placing the bearing on the crankshaft. A bushing is then inserted between the connecting rod bearing and crankshaft.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hermetically enclosed refrigeration compressor unit. The unit includes two sheet metal chambers for reducing the sound due to pressure effects. The sound reducing chambers are shallow in construction and have a common interior wall which extends upwardly between the cylinder and head of the compressor where it forms a part of the valving. Another wall of the sound reducing chambers also extends upwardly and forms a part of the cylinder head.
Abstract:
The invention is a crankshaft made from two sheet metal stampings having longitudinally extending edges which are joined as by welding to form a unitary crankshaft.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a motor compressor assembly of the type used for small refrigerating machines. It involves a construction for forming noise-reducing chambers wherein the chambers are formed between recesses in a central bore of the casing and a cup shaped element inserted in the central bore. Grooves are formed in the central bore which are covered by the peripheral wall of the insert and the grooves form passages connecting the noise reducing chambers.
Abstract:
THE INVENTION RELATES TO A LUBRICATING SYSTEM FOR A MOTORCOMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY OF THE TYPE USED FOR SMALL REFRIGERATING MACHINES. THE ASSEMBLY HAS A VERTICAL SHAFT ARRANGEMENT WITH A CENTRIFUGING DISC ATTACHED TO THE TOP OF THE SHAFT FOR FLINGING LUBRICATING OIL TO THE INTERNAL WALL OF THE CASING BY CENTRIFUGAL FORCE. THE SHAFT HAS SHOULDER OR FLANGE WHICH FORMS A PART OF AN AXIAL THRUST BEARING ARRANGEMENT AND THE CENTRIFUGING DISC HAS OUTWARDLY INCLINED WALL MEANS WHICH EXTENDS FROM A LEVEL BELOW TO A LEVEL ABOVE THE SHOULDER OF THE SHAFT.
