A communication control part includes a delivered value storing part, a replacement value storing part and a set value changing part in addition to a retransmission BSR timer. The delivered value storing part stores a delivered value delivered from a radio base station as a timer set value for the retransmission BSR timer. The replacement value storing part stores a replacement value, which is to be applied as the timer set value as a substitute of the delivered value. The set value changing part F5 sets the delivered value as the timer set value when data is not present in a LCG buffer, which corresponds to a particular application. The set value changing part sets the replacement value as the timer set value when data is present in the LCG buffer, which corresponds to the particular application.

A remote control apparatus uses wireless communication to control driving of a control object such as a vehicle. When the drive condition is changing, as when the vehicle is being steered to follow a curve in a travel route, while also the vehicle speed exceeds a specified threshold value, processing is executed for reducing a communication delay between the remote control apparatus and the control object, to thereby ensure sufficient speed of control response.

A vehicle control device includes: a reaction device that applies a steering reaction force to a steering operation performed by a driver on a driver's vehicle; and a control device that executes steering reaction force control for controlling a value of the steering reaction force. The control device applies, to a steering operation, a reaction force having a reference value as a steering reaction force when a lane change of a driver's vehicle is not performed during execution of steering reaction force control. When the lane change of the driver's vehicle is performed, the control device sets the steering reaction force to be applied to the steering operation in a direction of the lane change of the driver's vehicle to a value smaller than the reference value.

An other vehicle position estimation apparatus for estimating the position of another vehicle on the road using a particle filtering process includes an other vehicle map matcher and a particle number controller. The other vehicle map matcher includes an updater for updating the position of a particle distributed on a map, a likelihood calculator for calculating the likelihood of the particle position, and a position estimator configured to estimate the position of the other vehicle based on the position of the particle. The particle number controller determines a number of particles to distribute based on at least one of (i) a relative positional relationship between a subject vehicle and the other vehicle, (ii) an actual vehicle speed of the other vehicle, (iii) a distribution state of the particles, and (iv) a relationship between the position of the other vehicle and the road.
