摘要: Systems and methods are described herein for utilizing dynamic terrestrial and non-terrestrial intra gNodeB handover in a wireless network. A location of a user device connecting to the network is determined. In response to the user device being located within a terrestrial-only coverage area of the network, the user device is connected to a terrestrial cell within the terrestrial-only coverage area. In response to the user device being located within a boundary area of the network, a terrestrial cell in the boundary area is selected and a cluster associated with that terrestrial cell is identified. The user device is connected to that terrestrial cell based on that cluster. But in response to the user device being located within a non-terrestrial-only coverage area of the network, a cluster associated with a terrestrial cell within the boundary area closest to the user device is identified, and the user device is connected to a non-terrestrial cell based on that cluster.

摘要: A method and apparatus for prediction-based non-terrestrial network beam configuration and switching are provided. A base station determines a bandwidth part configuration for a user equipment, which includes a plurality of bandwidth parts respectively corresponding to a plurality of geographic areas. The base station configures the user equipment with the bandwidth part configuration and determines a position or movement of the user equipment in a first geographic area corresponding to a first bandwidth part. The base station determines, based on the position or movement, whether a criterion for reconfiguring the bandwidth part configuration is met. In response to determining that the criterion is met, the base station reconfigures the bandwidth part configuration of the user equipment while the user equipment is positioned in the first geographic area. The reconfiguration includes modifying the plurality of bandwidth parts to include a second bandwidth part corresponding to a second geographic area.

摘要: Embodiments include systems and methods for sharing a cellular wireless telecommunication network radio unit (RU) by multiple different mobile network operators (MNOs). The system causes the functionality of the RU to be concurrently provided as a service to a plurality of different MNOs which may also use shared spectrum frequency bands. Thus, such a system enables the MNO to build and operate its cellular wireless telecommunication network without any radio hardware other than that provided by the RU, and without owning any hardware, radio spectrum and physical infrastructure.

摘要: Various hybrid cellular communication systems and methods are presented herein. A first cellular network can include multiple user plane functions (UPFs). Each UPF can serve as a gateway for user equipment (UE) to communicate with a remotely-hosted service. Which UPF serves as the gateway for a UE is adjusted while the UE remains connected with the first cellular network. While connected with the first cellular network, a multiple access (MA) packet data unit (PDU) session is active for the UE that allows for communication to occur concurrently between the UE and the remotely-hosted service via an access point (AP) and via a UPF. While connected with a second cellular network distinct from the first cellular network, a single access PDU session is active that allows for communication to occur with the service via a second UPF of the second cellular network.

摘要: Various arrangements for spectrum sharing among a terrestrial network and a non-terrestrial network are presented herein. A first bandwidth part having a first frequency range for may be assigned use for communication between one or more UE of a plurality of UE and a terrestrial cellular network when a high signal strength is present. A second bandwidth part having a second frequency range may be assigned for use for communication between one or more UE of the plurality of UE and the terrestrial cellular network when a low signal strength is present. A third bandwidth part having a third frequency range can be assigned for use for communication between one or more UE of the plurality of UE and a non-terrestrial network. The third bandwidth part can overlap with the first bandwidth part but not the second bandwidth part.

摘要: Spectrum and radio resources associated with a 5G radio unit (RU) of a host network are dynamically allocated amongst one or more guest networks. A provisioning plane receives inputs from a guest network operator that identifies desired times, locations and/or frequency bands for desired network coverage. The provisioning plane responsively identifies bandwidth allocations that meet the requested parameters for exclusive use by the guest network. User equipment (UE) associated with each guest network maintains time and frequency synchronization with the host network, but otherwise limits its communications to the frequency bands allocated to the guest network. By dynamically obtaining physical radio and spectrum resources from a host provider and by scaling backend network capabilities using cloud resources, guest networks for any number of different purposes can be quickly deployed or modified as desired.

摘要: A system for scheduling wireless data transmissions divides a band allocated to the mobile service carrier into two overlapping bands. Then each user equipment (UE) of a plurality of UEs that connects to the ground-based network of the mobile service carrier is assigned to one of the two overlapping bands. The system allocates at a given scheduling time, physical resource blocks (PRBs) to UEs up to a maximum number of PRBs available for the particular overlapping frequency band to which the UE is assigned based on a metric for the UE that is a ratio of a downlink channel quality indicator for the UE to the average data rate of the UE at the given time, giving higher priority for PRB allocation to UEs that have a larger metric than other UEs of the plurality of UEs.

摘要: Systems and methods for controlling uplink power in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). An NTN station transmits a reference signal at a first time having a defined transmission power and the reference signal is received by non-terrestrial user equipment. The user equipment evaluates the reference signal and determines a first downlink loss of the reference signal by calculating a difference between a measured power level of the received reference signal and the defined transmission power. The NTN station transmits a communication signal at a second time and is received by the user equipment, which estimates a second downlink loss of the communication signal based on the first downlink loss and a power level of the communication signal. A first uplink loss is estimated based on the second downlink loss, and the user equipment adjusts a transmission power of its transmitter based on the first uplink loss.

An instance of user equipment (UE) may determine data that is to be transmitted using a grant-free (GF) uplink transmission to a base station of a cellular network. The UE may select a first GF resource block and a second GF resource block. The UE may transmit GF transmissions that comprise: a data payload and a first pointer at the first GF resource block; and the data payload and a second pointer at the second GF resource block. The first pointer may refer to the second GF resource block, while the second pointer may refer to the first GP resource block.
