    Abstract: An additive-manufacturing head includes: a ring-shape laser beam forming unit having axicon lenses facing each other and a convex lens between the axicon lenses to form a laser beam entering through the axicon lens into a ring-shape laser beam and emit the ring-shape laser beam from the other axicon lens; a lens moving mechanism to move the convex lens in the optical axis direction of the laser beam; a laser beam emitting unit to emit the ring-shape laser beam toward a workpiece; and a material powder feeding tube having an outlet which is disposed inside the ring-shape laser beam emitted from the laser beam emitting unit and from which material powder is released, to feed the material powder from the outlet toward the workpiece. Accordingly, the additive-manufacturing head capable of freely controlling the size of the laser-beam-irradiated region and the laser beam intensity distribution on the workpiece is provided.

    Abstract: A laser irradiation head includes a lower housing provided with a through-hole, a holder, and a first protective glass held by holder. Lower housing is provided with a holder insertion hole. Lower housing has an upper surface in which through-hole is opened. The holder has a holder upper surface. The laser irradiation head includes a seal member accommodated in a groove and a plunger that elastically biases holder. Assuming a groove cross section of groove located at a most distal end in an insertion direction of holder, plunger biases holder after the groove cross section passes an opening surface of through-hole in upper surface when holder is attached.

    Abstract: A manufacturing machine is a manufacturing machine capable of additive manufacturing. The manufacturing machine includes: an additive-manufacturing head configured to be movable in a machining area and to discharge material powder toward a workpiece and irradiate the workpiece with an energy beam; and a powder chute configured to be movable in the machining area and to receive material powder discharged from the additive-manufacturing head toward the workpiece and failing to attach to the workpiece. There is provided the manufacturing machine configured in the above-described manner to be capable of efficiently collecting material powder having failed to attach to the workpiece during additive manufacturing.

    Abstract: A manufacturing machine includes: a tool spindle configured to hold a tool for subtractive manufacturing for a workpiece; an additive manufacturing head detachably mounted on the tool spindle to discharge material powder and emit a laser beam during additive manufacturing; and a head stocker storing the additive manufacturing head in an outside-of-machining-area. The additive manufacturing head includes: a head body into which a laser beam is introduced; and a laser tool detachably mounted on the head body to emit the laser beam and define a laser-beam-irradiated region on the workpiece. The manufacturing machine further includes: a laser tool stocker storing a plurality of laser tools; and a laser tool exchanger for exchanging laser tools between the head body and the laser tool stocker. A high productivity of additive manufacturing is achieved by using the above features configured in this way.
