Abstract: An additive-manufacturing head includes: a ring-shape laser beam forming unit having axicon lenses facing each other and a convex lens between the axicon lenses to form a laser beam entering through the axicon lens into a ring-shape laser beam and emit the ring-shape laser beam from the other axicon lens; a lens moving mechanism to move the convex lens in the optical axis direction of the laser beam; a laser beam emitting unit to emit the ring-shape laser beam toward a workpiece; and a material powder feeding tube having an outlet which is disposed inside the ring-shape laser beam emitted from the laser beam emitting unit and from which material powder is released, to feed the material powder from the outlet toward the workpiece. Accordingly, the additive-manufacturing head capable of freely controlling the size of the laser-beam-irradiated region and the laser beam intensity distribution on the workpiece is provided.

Abstract: A laser irradiation head includes a lower housing provided with a through-hole, a holder, and a first protective glass held by holder. Abstract: An additive manufacturing head includes: a nozzle configured to discharge material powder; a rotary member connected with the nozzle, including a first material powder passage formed in the rotary member to direct the material powder to the nozzle, and configured to rotate to cause the nozzle to move in the circumferential direction about a laser beam emitted toward the workpiece; and a stationary member including a second material powder passage which is formed in the stationary member and into which the material powder is introduced, the stationary member being disposed directly beside the rotary member in the direction of the rotational axis of the rotary member. A third material powder passage communicating with the first material powder passage and the second material powder passage and extending annularly about the rotational axis of the rotary member is formed between the stationary member and the rotary member. Accordingly, an additive manufacturing head that implements a mechanism configured simply to feed material powder to an infinitely revolving nozzle is provided.

Abstract: A manufacturing machine is a manufacturing machine capable of additive manufacturing. The manufacturing machine includes: an additive-manufacturing head configured to be movable in a machining area and to discharge material powder toward a workpiece and irradiate the workpiece with an energy beam; and a powder chute configured to be movable in the machining area and to receive material powder discharged from the additive-manufacturing head toward the workpiece and failing to attach to the workpiece. There is provided the manufacturing machine configured in the above-described manner to be capable of efficiently collecting material powder having failed to attach to the workpiece during additive manufacturing.

Abstract: A workpiece processing method is a method for successively processing a plurality of workpieces including a first workpiece and a second workpiece in a single machining area. The workpiece processing method includes: performing additive manufacturing on the second workpiece in the machining area; and performing subtractive manufacturing on the first workpiece in the machining area while keeping on standby the second workpiece on which additive manufacturing is performed. In this way, the workpiece processing method with improved productivity is provided.
