摘要: The present invention is a composition comprising a) a stable aqueous dispersion of polymer particles having one or more structural units of i) a polyurea macromer; and ii) an acrylate, a methacrylate, a vinyl ester, or a styrene monomer, or a combination thereof; and/or b) an aqueous mixture of a i) polyurea macromer polymer particles; and b) acrylate, methacrylate, vinyl ester, or styrenic polymer particles, or a combination thereof, wherein the polyurea macromer is characterized by the following formula I: where A1, A2, R1, R2, and R3 are as defined herein. Compositions prepared using the compound of the present invention can be used to form coatings with excellent balance of low temperature film formation, hardness, and flexibility.

The compositions comprise (a) a cationic polymer comprising polymerized units derived from (i) 30 to 80 weight % of cationic monomers, (ii) 10 to 65 weight % of (meth)acrylamide monomers, and (iii) 0 to 30 weight % of polar non-ionic derivatives of acrylic monomers, and (b) at least one cosmetically acceptable surfactant, rheology modifier, or cosmetic active. Also provided are methods of treating hair with such compositions.

摘要: A reaction system for forming a viscoelastic polyurethane foam includes an isocyanate component and an isocyanate-reactive component that includes at least a polyol component, an additive component, and a preformed aqueous polymer dispersant. The mixture includes 50.0 wt % to 99.8 wt % of the polyol component, 0.1 wt % to 49.9 wt % of the additive component, and 0.1 wt % to 6.0 wt % of the preformed aqueous polymer dispersant. The aqueous polymer dispersant has a pH from 6.0 to 12.0 and includes from 5 wt % to 60 wt % of a polymeric component and from 40 wt % to 95 wt % of a fluid medium. The polymeric component includes at least one base polymer derived from 20 wt % to 100 wt % of at least one hydrophilic acid monomer having at least one carbonyl group, phosphate group, phosphonate group, or sulfonyl group, and optionally derived from at least one hydrophobic terminally unsaturated hydrocarbon monomer.

摘要: The present invention relates to a composition which comprises a stable aqueous dispersion of discrete polymer particles and a water-soluble dispersant adsorbed onto the surfaces of pigment particles, wherein the polymer particles comprise structural units of a sulfonic acid monomer or a salt thereof. The present invention addresses a need in the art by providing a way to improve the hiding efficiency of compositions containing pigment such as TiO2 and associative rheology modifiers.
