A bossed disc-like member manufacturing method and apparatus with which it is possible to simply form a boss portion with a desired height. The method includes a level difference formation step that moves a second portion, which is positioned on the inner peripheral side of a first portion in a radial direction of a disc-like blank, relative to the first portion in a first direction which is the thickness direction of the blank, thus forming a level difference between the first portion and the second portion. A conical portion formation step moves the second portion relative to the first portion in a second direction opposite to the first direction, eliminating the level difference. In this manner, a conical portion is formed in the second direction on the inner side of the second portion; and a burring step performs a burring process on the conical portion, thus forming the boss portion.

The lighting device can include a semiconductor light emitting element configured to emit light from a first face and a second face thereof. A mounting substrate can be provided on which the semiconductor light emitting element is mounted. Light emitted from the second face can transmit through the mounting substrate, and a first optical system can be provided and configured to impart a first light distribution pattern to the light emitted from the first face of the semiconductor light emitting element. A second optical system can be provided and configured to impart a second light distribution pattern to light emitted from the second face of the semiconductor light emitting element.

The communication control unit, on the basis of information received from the nearby wireless communication device in the detection process, determines if one of the content data in the storage unit or content data in the nearby wireless communication device has been updated relative to the other, and controls the connection process performed when the update is determined.
