Abstract:
The subject invention relates generally to methods and apparatuses for calcining gypsum. The apparatuses and methods place a gypsum particle optimizer in close association with the impact mill so that all the gypsum supplied to the impact mill has to enter the gypsum particle optimizer prior to the gypsum entering the impact mill, and so that heat generated from the impact mill enters into the gypsum particle optimizer from the impact mill. The gypsum particle optimizer utilizes a rotor to disperse the gypsum throughout the gypsum particle optimizer so that the gypsum is exposed to the heat from the impact mill prior to entering the impact mill. The exposure to the heat removes free water from the gypsum prior to the gypsum entering the impact mill.
Abstract:
A power delivery system for parked aircraft includes protective rings on the power cords. These protective rings protect the power cord jackets from wear and facilitate movement of the power cords across the ground. The rings may be configured for securement to the cable so as to compress the insulative jacket of the cable somewhat, thereby firmly maintaining the rings in place on the cable. The rings may be formed of two identical elements that are joined to envelope the cable. The rings may accommodate both round insulated cable, as well as bundled cable.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an in-mold labeling method, and to molded plastic articles having an in-mold label as described herein. In one embodiment of the invention, the in-mold label film comprises: (A) a polymer facestock having a printable upper surface and a lower surface, (B) a print layer having an upper surface and a lower surface wherein the lower surface of the print layer is in contact with and adhered to the upper surface of the facestock, and (C) an adhesive layer having an upper surface and a lower surface wherein the lower surface is in contact with and adhered to the upper surface of the print layer.
Abstract:
Mounting systems can releasably secure display devices to preexisting surfaces for convenient installation and removal without external tools. A mounting system can comprise lower magnetic assemblies, upper magnetic assemblies, and a mounting sheet. The lower magnetic assemblies can be secured to a rear surface of a display device, for releasably attaching the display device to a preexisting surface. A bottom portion of the mounting sheet can be secured to the rear surface of the display device, while a top portion of the mounting sheet can remain loose from the rear surface. The upper magnetic assemblies can be provided along the loose top portion of the mounting sheet, for releasably attaching the display device to the preexisting surface. The upper magnetic assemblies can retain their connection to the preexisting surface as the display device is pulled away from the preexisting surface, until a threshold condition is met.
Abstract:
Interactive systems can include various components that are packaged together and easily assemblable. An interactive system can comprise a mount, a display device, a projector, an input device, and a processing device. The display device, the projector, the input device, and the processing device can together provide an electronic display system, while the mount can carry these other various components and assist in connecting them to one another. The mount and the other components of the interactive system can be conveniently packaged and sold as group for convenient installation by one or two persons.
Abstract:
Resource allocation aware processing of requests for media resources is disclosed. A queue is defined. A media resource is allocated to the queue. A media resource request is associated with the queue.
Abstract:
An improved magnetic drive pump is disclosed with improved bearing support for the proximal and distal ends of the rotor shaft. Further, an improved mechanism to couple the inner magnet assembly to the rotor shaft is also disclosed. Finally a mechanism for sealing the pump chamber from the interior of the canister that surrounds the inner magnet assembly is disclosed which permits a separate supply of coolant to be used for cooling the inner magnet assembly and the proximal end of the rotor shaft wherein such a coolant is not the fluid being pumped in the pump chamber. The pump chamber is isolated from the interior of the canister.
Abstract:
A fuzzy logic load management controller for use with a computer image generator. The load management controller is used use with a computer image generator having a plurality of inputs and a plurality of outputs, and includes an adder that couples inputs to the image generator. The load management controller comprises a fuzzy logic controller disposed in a feedback loop between the output of the image generator and the adder. The load management controller includes a fuzzy logic inference engine, a set of membership functions coupled to the inference engine, and a rules database coupled to the inference engine that includes a set of if-then rules that specify the response of the fuzzy logic controller to inputs applied thereto. The fuzzy logic controller provides for load management of the image generator that gracefully degrades a viewed scene, keeps the image update rate constant, and renders important objects in the viewed scene.
