    摘要: A tangentially-fired furnace for the burning of anthracite is disclosed. The furnace may contain a boiler with a chamber having four corners. Four burner groups located at the four corners may be configured to eject pulverized coal flow into the chamber for combustion, in order to form a single fireball substantially at the center of the chamber during combustion. Each burner group may contain a first burner which includes primary-air/rich-portion nozzles for ejecting rich-portion coal flow into a lower section of the chamber, and a second burner which includes primary-air/thin-portion nozzles for ejecting thin-portion coal flow into a higher section of the chamber.

    摘要: A method and system for processing biomass material from harvest to pelletizing includes a continuous shredding stage and grinding stage to reduce the size of the material. A fan pulls air through the shredder and the grinder to assist the movement of the biomass material through the shredder and the grinder. Due to the light weight of the biomass material, the material is transported between the shredding and grinding stages mechanically and pneumatically by a combination auger with air assist. The biomass material may include agricultural residues, such as corn stover. The process and equipment eliminates or minimizes damage to the carbohydrates in the biomass so as to maintain pre-grinding cellulose and hemi-cellulose levels.

    摘要: An improved apparatus for on-line coal flow control in vertical spindle mills comprising a plurality of independently adjustable flow control elements and positioning rods that adjust the positioning of those flow control elements. Each flow control element is positioned within the discharge turret of the vertical spindle mill along the outer wall of the discharge turret proximate the entrance to its corresponding coal outlet pipe. The adjustable rods are seated on the side or top of the discharge turret of the coal pulverizer and are connected to the flow control element horizontally or vertically as the case may be. The flow control elements can be independently rotated by +/−90 degrees about the positioning rod axis, moved back and forth in the horizontal plane, and can also be moved up and down in the vertical plane. Therefore, each flow control element has three degrees-of-freedom: one rotational and two linear displacements. The apparatus improves boiler performance by making it possible to operate the boiler with reduced pollutant levels (e.g. NOx, CO) and increased combustion efficiency. Automated computer control of the control surfaces is contemplated.
