摘要: In a new process for making a cathode current collector assembly, a cathode composition is positioned on a substrate between the substrate and a releasable layer. Next, force is applied on the releasable layer and directed toward the substrate so as to provide a smooth cathode surface in contact with the releasable layer. The cathode composition having the releasable layer maintained thereon is cooled to reduce the tackiness of the cathode composition and then the releasable layer is removed while the cathode composition remains in its condition of reduced tackiness. In an alternative process, the cathode composition is applied and then force is applied immediatly before or simultaneously with cooling the composition to a state of reduced tackiness. An electrolyte composition is applied to the smooth surface cathode and the cathode and electrolyte compositions are cured together. In a final step, an anode layer is applied onto the electrolyte composition to form a cell assembly and further curing may occur.

摘要: A method and apparatus for exposing an imaging sheet to form a latent image in a layer of photosensitive microcapsules on the surface of the imaging sheet utilizes wavelength or frequency transformation of light images representative of the latent image, which transformation is performed by a light valve. An original document, including images which are to be transferred to an imaging sheet, is illuminated by visible light which is directed upon and controls the light valve, such that actinic radiation illuminating the light valve is modulated in accordance with the visible light; the modulated actinic radiation is directed upon the imaging sheet to form a latent image therein. In this way, the original document may be illuminated by visible light which is effectively wavelength or frequency transformed by the light valve into actinic radiation, typically in the ultraviolet range.

摘要: This invention relates to a process for the production of a hot melt coating composition containing microcapsules. The process comprises the steps of preparing a dispersion of substantially discrete microcapsules in a volatile solvent continuous phase. A hot melt suspending medium is prepared, the hot melt suspending medium having a melting point of from about 50.degree. C. to about 140.degree. C. and a melting point range of less than about 15.degree. C., the hot melt suspending medium being in a fluid state. The dispersion of substantia lly discrete microcapsules in a volatile solvent is then mixed with the fluid hot melt suspending medium with turbulent agitation to form an intimate mixture of the dispersion of microcapsules and the hot melt suspending medium. Heat and a vacuum are applied to the mixture, while maintaining the agitation, until the volatile solvent is substantially removed from the mixture to form a dispersion of substantially discrete microcapsules in the liquid hot melt suspending medium. The heat is applied at a rate sufficient to maintain the mixture at a temperature above the melting point of the hot melt suspending medium, the temperature also being above the boiling point of water at the vacuum level. This invention further relates to the coating composition produced by the process of this invention.
