    摘要: An air stabilization system employing two parallel, opposite-facing Coanda nozzles, with each nozzle exhausting gas at opposite directions, subjects a moving flexible web to opposing forces effective to create local tension within the web. Each nozzle includes an elongated slot that is perpendicular to the path of the moving web. The nozzles serve as separate points along the machine direction for controlling the height of the web. The operative surface with the nozzles can exhibit a flush surface. The nozzles can be formed on elevated structures on the operative surface. The operative surface can be covered with a transparent substrate to minimize shape distortions on the moving web and to prevent debris from collecting around the sensor. By modulating the velocities of gases exiting the nozzles, the shape of the web can be manipulated to present a planar contour. The air stabilization system can be incorporated into a caliper scanner.

    摘要: The adjustable siding gauge described in these documents is to be used with any lap or clapboard siding application. By starting at the bottom with your first course level you can then adjust the gauge for the amount of clapboard you wish to show (or weather). By hooking the adjustable part (B) on the bottom edge of the first course and resting the body (A) up against the clapboard you can then simply place the next course on the wall and down until it rests on the top of the body, and then nail it.By using the gauge in this way you will always have a consistent amount of weather between where the clapboards overlap, the courses will stay fairly level and there is no need to snap chalk lines to keep them even.The adjustable siding gauge is easily carried and handled. It will last for years and it is fully adjustable from 1" to 8" of weather.

The model includes a reusable base and a replaceable single use insert. The base is size and configured to receive the insert. The tray can include a slit located at a point along its length that permits the ends of the tray to rotate about the slit so that the ends can be bent with respect to one another.
