    摘要: High-density rack unit systems and methods are described for telecommunication and data communication systems that utilize novel airflow mechanisms thereby enabling modularity and high-density in small-form factor units. The high-density rack unit systems and methods offer novel airflow mechanisms via right-angle backplane connectors to enable more airflow in a rack unit as well as novel field replaceable fans in these high-density rack units. Further, the high-density rack unit systems and methods include a baffle structure to keep power-supply-related airflow separate from the airflow over other components in the 1U or 2U rack unit. In this manner, the high-density rack unit systems and methods enable system vendors and network operators to realize significant density improvements.

    摘要: The present disclosure provides an optical transceiver, method of mapping, and method of management utilizing a plurality of Optical Channel Transport Unit layer k (OTUk) links to form an aggregate signal, such as, for example, 10 OTU2s to provide a single 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100 GbE) signal. Specifically, the present invention enables use of existing circuitry and methods at lower speed signals, e.g. 10 G, to support higher speed aggregate signals, e.g. 100 G. The present invention may be utilized to support carrier-grade OTN applications with optical transceivers such as, for example, pluggable optical transceivers. In an exemplary embodiment, the present invention includes a method which receives a plurality of signals, frames each of the plurality of signals into an OTUk frame, and manages/monitors each of the plurality of signals in an OTUk frame in the aggregate.

    摘要: The present invention provides integrated framing in pluggable optical transceivers to extend the OTN framework into metro, regional, and core applications. Additionally, the present invention provides integrated FEC and optical layer OAM&P features into pluggable optical transceivers. This integration is done with existing pluggable transceivers defined by MSAs such as, but not limited to, XFP, XPAK, XENPAK, X2, XFP-E, and SFP+. Further, the present invention can be extended to new, emerging pluggable transceiver standards and specifications.
