    摘要: A method and apparatus for distributing protocol processing among a plurality of computing platforms. Data communications equipment such as Remote Access Devices, Communication Servers, Terminal Servers, and Dial-up Routers provide single user or large-scale multiple user communication access to various computing environments. The equipment costs and performance of such access equipment is related to the amount of CPU processing capability and memory required to support the desired number of serial communication links. It is common to use protocols that terminate in their entirely in the same processing machine. This invention encompasses methods developed to increase the cost/performance capabilities of the communication equipment that supports these serial links, primarily by means of distributing the protocol processing for higher level protocols across multiple computing platforms, including devices such as modems. Examples of such higher level protocols include PPP, SLIP and RTP.

    摘要: A contention free local area network includes a token passing control bus (102) and a data bus (104) coupled to a plurality of communication nodes ( 108, 112, 114, 116, 118, and 120). The control bus (102) allows for a transmit-enable token to be daisy-chained along the plurality of communication nodes. When one of the communication nodes wants to transmit a message, the node upon receiving the transmit-enable token holds the token until it transmits its message along a data bus (104) to the other communication nodes. Once the message is transmitted, the particular communication node releases the transmit-enable token, allowing the token to continue to be rotated among the plurality of communication nodes (108, 112, 114, 116, 118 and 120).

One golf swing analysis system includes a motion sensing device attached to a golf club, the motion sensing device comprising a controller and one or more motion sensors. The golf swing analysis system further includes a remote processor, wherein a wireless link electronically connects the remote processor and the controller of the motion sensing device. Further, at least one of the controller and the remote processor are operative to access sensor data generated based on sensed signals of the one or more motion sensors, and perform pattern recognition analysis on the sensor data, comprising identifying and analyzing at least a portion of a golf swing based on the sensed data.

An interface for inhibiting radiation scatter is provided at the boundary between the halide cladding and the halide core.
