Abstract: Aspects relate to calculating energy expenditure values from an apparatus. Steps counts may be quantified, such as by detecting arm swings peaks and bounce peaks in motion data. Frequencies of acceleration data within a search range may be analyzed to identify one or more peaks. Novel systems and methods may determine whether to utilize the arm swing data, bounce data, and/or other data or portions of data to quantify steps. The number of peaks (and types of peaks) may be used to choose a step frequency and step magnitude.

Abstract: A system provides ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning. The system exchanges ranging signals at a first rate between a UWB beacon and a UWB tag. The system then determines movement or location information of the UWB tag; and select, based on the movement or location information, a second rate for exchanging subsequent ranging signals between the UWB beacon and the UWB tag. The system then exchanges the subsequent ranging signals at the second rate between the UWB beacon and the UWB tag.

Abstract: Implementations of various computer methods to couple a computerized ball device which acts as a mobile computing device to record the users environment and project light towards waveguide eyeglasses or contacts which then allows a user to view imbedded light structure holograms in the waveguide while viewing the actual world. The computer ball device additionally has the ability to be docked in a drone cradle which creates a database map of the user's environment while not being utilized by the user for an immediate task. The device may also attach to a wrist band for mobility. The device also has the ability to couple the projected light structures so that a plurality of users may view the same light structure content to build an environment of trust. The device decouples the traditional design of head mounted virtual and mixed reality that place together the camera with the head mounted device.
