Abstract: Some of the embodiments herein provide a seamless cloud of storage. This storage may be content-addressable storage. An end application may or may not be exposed to the fact that content-addressable storage is used. Various embodiments herein provide event notification, which may allow applications or users to subscribe to particular events (such as storage of an X-ray by a particular entity). Some embodiments provide for a shared archive. A shared archive may provide homogeneous access to medical data, etc. that was previously stored into the CAS cloud by heterogeneous applications, varied data types, etc. Additionally, embodiments herein allow for the creation and distribution of virtual packages. For example, a user may create a virtual package for all images related to a patient so that she may have a virtual package of all of her medical data to present to a referring physician.

Abstract: Features are disclosed for remote storage of medical information in a cloud service, and the systems and methods for sending, receiving, and accessing the data into and from the cloud server. A user may identify DICOM studies stored in a database at a medical data repository to be exported. The cloud service or an on-site unit at the medical data repository may search databases at the medical data repository for related medical information to identified DICOM studies. The identified DICOM studies and the related medical information may be burned into portable storage or combined into a virtual package to be uploaded to the cloud service. The cloud service may receive one or more recipients to grant access to the uploaded virtual package and may send an email to the one or more recipients indicating that virtual package may now be accessed.

Abstract: This application discloses a system for recording medical image data for production on a portable digital recording medium such as CDs and DVDs. Aspects of this disclosure include a robotic disc burning system that can receive a request for medical imaging data generated by an imaging modality and record all of the following onto an optical disc that is removable from the robotic disc burning system: the medical imaging data, data that is related to the medical imaging data, and a viewing program configured to allow viewing by a general purpose computer of the medical imaging data that is recorded on the disc. The system includes, among other components, a labeling module configured to produce a label on the optical disc without manual application of the label onto the optical disc. Additional aspects of this disclosure include an associated method for recording medical image data.
