摘要： Continuous web-fed rotary tuck and jaw type folding apparatus, typically for high speed periodical, catalogue or newspaper production, is speedily and readily convertible to produce differently page sized and differently folded signatures. Said apparatus has severing means for cutting the web into a stream of discrete signatures; a first rotary cylinder having pin or other transport means and first tuck means carrying those signatures on its periphery, a second rotary cylinder having first or main jaw means coacting with said first tuck means whereby a central cross fold is created in each signature as it is taken off the first cylinder periphery onto the second cylinder periphery to provide a tabloid format signature; and one or more third cylinders each provided with independently operable sets of gripper and second jaw means, the gripper means operating with the third cylinder running in timed relationship so that they take off said tabloid folded signatures for onward transmission, and the second jaw means operating with the third cylinder running in timed relationship to second tucking means of the second cylinder so as to form a further central cross fold in each tabloid signature as it is taken off the second cylinder periphery to provide a double-parallel folded signature.

摘要： An improved encoder/decoder circuit which utilizes a phase locked loop frequency synthesizer configuration to permit both encoder and decoder operation. In addition, a sampling filter detector is employed to permit monolithic integration of the circuit and minimize sensitivity to vibration. The sampling filter detector has digitally controlled bandwidth which permits rapid response to reverse burst turn-off. In addition, the circuit includes a pulse adder to implement an energy limited reverse burst turn-off mode.

摘要： The present invention relates to novel mammalian DNA-R proteins and genes that encode such proteins. The invention is directed toward the isolation and characterization of mammalian DNA-R proteins. The invention specifically provides isolated complementary DNA copies of mRNA corresponding to rat and human homologues of a mammalian DNA-R gene. Also provided are recombinant expression constructs capable of expressing the mammalian DNA-R genes of the invention in cultures of transformed prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, as well as such cultures of transformed cells that synthesize the mammalian catecholamine receptor proteins encoded therein. The invention also provides methods for screening compounds in vitro that are capable of binding to the mammalian DNA-R proteins of the invention, and further characterizing the binding properties of such compounds in comparison with known DNA-R agonists and antagonists. Improved methods of pharmacological screening are provided thereby.

摘要： A method and circuit for generating an output signal representative of the pumping current required to equalize the oxygen diffusion between the sensing cell and the pumping cell of an oxygen-ion concentration proportional sensor located in the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine. A replication current, which is isolated from but representative of the pumping current, is generated. The replication current is then passed through a load resistance for generating the output signal. The replication current is generated simultaneously with but isolated from the pumping current, thereby eliminating the need for separate amplification of a sensed version of the pumping current.
