One exemplary composition, among others, includes a basic component, an acidic component, at least one monoacrylate component, a light sensitive initiator, and a polar binder. A polymerization reaction between the at least one monoacrylate component and the light sensitive initiator occurs upon exposure to optical energy. The polar binder includes a viscosity modifier and a surface tension modifier. The polar binder is capable of stimulating a crosslinking reaction between the basic component and the acidic component.

A method for making a cement composition using spray dried cement particles comprises a) providing cement particles, b) milling or sieving said cement particles so as to produce cement particles having a desired average size, c) adding a liquid carrier to said particles before or after milling so as to form a slurry, d) adding a poly acid to said particles while maintaining the pH of the slurry above about 6, and e) spray-drying the slurry. The resulting particles can be used in conjunction with a liquid binder to form a monolith having a desired shape.

The present invention is drawn toward compositions, methods, and systems for solid free-form fabrication of three-dimensional objects. In one embodiment, a system for solid free-form fabrication of three-dimensional objects can comprise a particulate composition, a substrate configured for supporting at least a layer of the particulate composition in a defined region, and a liquid phase binder configured for being jetted in the defined region to polymerize at least a portion of the particulate composition to form a polymeric cement. Using this system in a layer by layer deposition process, three-dimensional objects can be formed. The particulate composition can include from 70 wt % to 99.9 wt % of polymeric particulates, and from 0.1 wt % to 10 wt % of a polymerization initiator. The liquid phase binder can include from 70 wt % to 90 wt % of polymerizable monomers and from 0.1 wt % to 10 wt % of a polymerization accelerator.
