摘要: A system is provided for authenticating and securing product transactions. An integrated circuit is attached to a target, such as an optical disc or electronic device. The integrated circuit has an RF transceiver that is capable of establishing communication with an associated reading device. The integrated circuit also has a hidden memory, which can not be read externally, and a user memory. The hidden memory stores an authentication message, while the user memory stores readable authentication information. The hidden authentication message and the authentication information are related through a cryptographic process. However, even though the integrated circuit benefits from the cryptographic security, the integrated circuit only operates relatively simple logic operations. In this way, a highly secure transaction is enabled without requiring significant processing power or time at the integrated circuit. When the integrated circuit is placed near the reader, the reader reads the authentication information, and with the cooperation of a network operation center, uses the authentication information to derive an activation code. The reader passes the activation code to the integrated circuit, which compares the activation code to its hidden activation message. If they have a proper relationship, the communication has been authenticated, and the integrated circuit proceeds to perform an action.

摘要: An egg transporting system having a plurality of egg belt conveyors leading from cages of a poultry installation includes a transition mechanism for dividing and orienting the eggs at the output end of each of the egg belt conveyors into a plurality of separate rows and depositing the eggs on an elevator. The elevator includes a plurality of endless loop belts on which there is attached egg transporting cradles for receiving eggs from the transition mechanism at vertically and horizontally-spaced input locations at the input side of the elevator and for transporting the eggs to the opposite side of the elevator and releasing them onto a main conveyor which extends in communication with several egg elevators for accumulating and collecting eggs from the poultry installation. The transition and elevator mechanism cooperate to provide a minimum of egg breakage and a maximum conveying speed for transferring eggs from the egg belt conveyors onto the main conveyor.

摘要: A method and system for communicating a product status is provided. The product has a product indicator device that has a changeable indicator, an embedded processor, and radio. A point of sale device wirelessly reads validation data from the embedded processor, with the validation data being used to confirm that the product may validly change states. If the product is allowed to have its state changed, the point of sale device sends a key code to the embedded processor, where the key code is processed with locally stored data. The embedded processor determines if the changeable indicator may be changed to show that the product has changed states.

摘要: An array of vertically spaced rows of poultry cages are mounted on opposite sides of A-frame end supports with the uppermost rows engaged and secured to one another along a corner to provide additional stability to the frame. Feed troughs extend along and are secured to the front of the poultry cages so arranged to provide additional strength to the cages while providing feed for the chickens. The feed trough is suspended from and supported by the cage by a plurality of spaced cage clip supports mounting one edge of the generally U-shaped trough to the front of the cages. In order to maintain the feed troughs in a horizontal position, stabilizing rods are provided at spaced intervals along the troughs and include a hook at one end extending over the top corner of the trough remote from the cage. The rods extend downwardly and under the cage and are coupled at the opposite end to a longitudinally extending wire in the floor of the cage to equalize the loading force of the cage on the troughs preventing twisting of the troughs, thus maintaining the floors of the troughs horizontal so that the feed conveyors therein operate properly.

摘要: A chick cage system particularly adapted for the raising of chicks into pullets including upper and lower cage rows, the upper cage rows overlying the lower cage rows for approximately one-half of their width. The feed trough in the lower cage is offset laterally from beneath the upper cages so as not to be contaminated by falling manure. The upper cages, within which the chicks are started, include a barrier for reducing the size of the cage and a feed saver mechanism swingable with the barrier. The troughs run centrally of the cages to permit bird access thereto from both sides.
