Abstract: A planetary gear system and a planet gear fastener assembly for a planetary gear system includes a planet gear having a planet gear axis, a carrier connected to the planet gear, and a sun gear that engages the planet gear. Abstract: A work vehicle has a chassis supported off the ground by ground-engaging wheels or tracks and two transaxles carried by the chassis. The first transaxle has first wheel end units rotatable about a first wheel axis via a first transaxle gear set to rotate a first set of the ground-engaging wheels or tracks. The second transaxle has second wheel end units rotatable about a second wheel axis via a second transaxle gear set to rotate a second set of the ground-engaging wheels or tracks. The second transaxle includes an electric machine having a shaft rotating about a machine axis, a transmission rotated by the electric machine shaft and configured to effect multiple gear ratios at a range gear, and a drive gear rotatable about the second wheel axis by the range gear of the transmission. A transfer shaft has a first end coupled to an input arrangement that engages the first transaxle gear set and has a second end coupled to an output gear that engages the drive gear to transfer power from the second transaxle to the first transaxle via the transfer shaft.

Abstract: An electric drive axle for a work vehicle has an axle housing defining chassis mounts configured to mount to the work vehicle chassis and defining an interior cavity disposed between opposite open ends. Wheel end units are secured at least partially within the axle housing. Each wheel end unit includes an electric machine and a gear set driving a hub for engaging a ground-engaging member of the work vehicle. A battery pack and power electronics are mounted within the axle housing between the wheel end units. The power controller has a processor executing control logic and is electrically coupled to the wheel end units and the battery pack and configured to control supply of power from the battery pack to the wheel end units.

Abstract: A drive assembly for a work vehicle includes an electric machine and a transmission assembly, which has a gear set at least in part contained within a transmission housing and has a control orifice communicating with a transmission section of a cooling circuit for the drive assembly being at least in part within the transmission housing. The electric machine has a casing coupled to the transmission housing to be mounted fixedly thereto. The casing has a coolant inlet port and defines an electric machine section of the cooling circuit for the drive assembly that is at least in part within the casing. A controlled flow of coolant is transferred from the electric machine section of the cooling circuit to the transmission section of the cooling circuit via the control orifice.

Abstract: A swing drive for rotating a component of a work vehicle. The swing drive has an electric machine rotating an output shaft about a drive axis and having a planetary set disposed beneath the electric machine. The planetary set has a carrier with pinion shafts having oil passageways therethrough. A splash plate is disposed axially between the electric machine and the planetary set to direct lubricating oil from a face of the electric machine to the oil passageways of the pinion shafts and to direct lubricating oil from the face of the electric machine around the oil passageways. A drive gear is driven to rotate about the drive axis by the electric motor via the double planetary set.

Abstract: A drive assembly for a work vehicle includes a drive housing, a drive shaft rotatable about a drive axis, an inner hub rotationally fixed to the drive shaft, and a planetary gear set coupled to the drive shaft and configured to selectively rotate an output element. The drive assembly also includes a clutch arrangement having a clutch ring configured to selectively engage the planetary gear set. The clutch arrangement further includes a guide assembly mounted on the clutch ring and configured to selectively interact with the planetary gear set to effect disengagement of the clutch ring from the planetary gear set. A clutch actuation assembly is configured to effect movement of the clutch arrangement along the drive axis to engage the planetary gear set, and a guide actuation assembly is configured to operate the guide assembly to interact with the planetary gear set.

Abstract: A drive mechanism comprises a flywheel, a flywheel damper removably connected to the flywheel, a pump drive, and an intermediate shaft. The pump drive comprises a housing, an input shaft mounted to the housing for rotation relative thereto about an axis of rotation, and a seal surrounding the input shaft to establish a sealed connection therewith. The intermediate shaft is co-axial with the input shaft relative to the axis of rotation and removably connected to the flywheel damper and the input shaft. The seal is replaceable. An associated method for replacing the seal is disclosed.

Abstract: A work vehicle has two transaxles carried by a chassis each having wheel end units rotatable to drive ground-engaging members about wheel axes and having electric machines powering transmission configured to effect multiple gear ratios. The electric transaxles are operationally mechanically uncoupled. One or more sensors detect speed, heading, and loading characteristics of the work vehicle. A controller, having memory and processing architecture, is configured to process control to: receive from the one or more sensors input of the speed, heading, and loading characteristics of the work vehicle. The controller determines a shift pair sequence for shifting the first transmission and the second transmission based on the received input of the speed, heading, and loading characteristics of the work vehicle. The shift pair sequence defines a shift time (tS1) for shifting the first transmission and a shift time (tS2) for shifting the second transmission in which the shift time tS1 is the same or different than the shift time tS2. The controller generates a first shift command to shift the first transmission at the shift time tS1 while the second electric transaxle drives the work vehicle and generate a second shift command to shift the second transmission at the shift time tS2 while the first electric transaxle drives the work vehicle.

Abstract: A work vehicle includes front and rear electric drive axles mounted to its chassis. Each electric drive axle has an axle housing defining chassis mounts configured to mount to the chassis. The axle housing defines an interior cavity disposed between opposite ends defining openings. Wheel end units are secured at least partially within the axle housing. Each wheel end unit defines a hub for engaging a ground-engaging member of the work vehicle through an associated one of the openings. Each wheel end unit has drive components configured to rotate the hub of each wheel end unit. A battery pack is mounted within the axle housing between the wheel end units. A power controller is mounted within the axle housing between the wheel end units, the power controller electrically coupled to the wheel end units and the battery pack and configured to control supply of power from the battery pack to the wheel end units. A drive component is mounted to the chassis external to the axle housings of the front and rear electric drive axles and coupled to the power controller of each of the front and rear electric drive axles to supply to or receive power from the front and rear electric drive axles.
