摘要: A method for reducing overheating in a clutch assembly having a clutch housing, a shaft, and a clutch pack. The clutch pack includes a backing plate, an applied plate, a plurality of friction plates, and a plurality of reaction plates. A primary actuator applies pressure to the applied plate to longitudinally compress the entire clutch pack and couple rotation of the clutch housing and the shaft. A secondary actuator applies pressure to at least one plate in the plurality of friction plates and the plurality of reaction plates to longitudinally move the at least one plates independently of the applied plate. This relieves some of the torque transmitted across the clutch pack adjacent the applied plate and reduces localized temperature spikes in the clutch pack adjacent to the applied plate.

A circumferential direction abutting section 226 freely abutting with circumferential direction end 216a of the snap ring 216 is provided in the end plate 212.

摘要: An elastic return device including a gasket and a clutch mechanism whose actuating system includes a control chamber designed to receive a pressurized fluid, a piston which is axially movable in the control chamber so as to engage or disengage the corresponding clutch, a balancing chamber situated opposite the control chamber in relation to the piston, and an elastic return device housed in the balancing chamber and designed to exert an axial force against the piston. According to the invention, the elastic return device includes, on one of its faces bearing against the piston, an internal peripheral end which extends radially beneath the piston and which carries a gasket in order to seal off the balancing chamber from the control chamber. The invention likewise relates to a transmission system including such a dual clutch mechanism.

Inner-diameter-side through-holes through which a lubricating liquid passes on an inner diameter side of the disk section and outer-diameter-side through-holes through which a lubricating liquid passes on an outer diameter side of the disk section are formed in the disk section, and the inner-diameter-side through-holes and the outer-diameter-side through-holes are alternately disposed in a circumferential direction of the disk section.

摘要: A torque transmitting device having a spring pack assembly, includes a first spring retainer ring abutting a hydraulically actuated piston, a second spring retainer ring abutting a piston housing, and a plurality of coiled springs biasing the first spring retainer ring apart from the second retainer ring, thereby urging the hydraulically actuated piston slideably apart from the fixed piston housing. A composite spring support ring is coaxially disposed between the first spring retainer ring and the second spring retainer ring. The spring support ring includes cylindrical walls defining cylindrical passageways configured to receive the coiled springs. Each of the cylindrical passageway includes include a diameter (d) that is sufficiently narrow such that the cylindrical wall completely surrounds the mid-portion of the coiled spring thus preventing the coiled spring from bending lengthwise, but sufficiently wide such that the coiled spring does not saw into the cylindrical walls.

摘要: A selectable one way clutch includes a reverse strut pocket plate having a first plurality of struts or pawls, a reverse notch and forward strut pocket plate having a second plurality of struts or pawls, a selector plate disposed between the plates controlled by a selector plate actuator and a forward notch plate. The reverse notch and forward strut pocket plate includes a plurality of ratchet teeth disposed about its periphery which cooperate with a pin or pushrod of a linear actuator. When the reverse notch plate and forward strut pocket plate is stationary but the one way clutch is still carrying torque, the linear actuator may be actuated to rotate the reverse notch plate and forward strut pocket plate to unlock or release the torque carrying struts which would otherwise remain in their locked torque transmitting positions until all or substantially all torque across the clutch was removed.

摘要: A clutch hub is selectively held against rotation by a brake and selectively coupled to an input shaft by a clutch. The clutch pack for the brake is splined to the outside of the clutch hub while the clutch pack for the clutch is splined to the inside. To reduce axial length, the clutch packs are packaged radially outside of a gear set, increasing the diameter of the clutch hub. When the clutch hub is subjected to high rotational speeds, high centrifugal stresses result. These stresses are reduced by openings in the spline teeth and in the recesses between the spline teeth. Fluid flow to the outer clutch pack is controlled by openings in a clutch housing.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a torque converter for vehicle. The torque converter includes a front cover, an impeller configured to rotate and being coupled to the front cover, a turbine disposed to face the impeller, a turbine shell provided in the turbine, a stator disposed between the impeller and the turbine, and a lockup clutch provided with a drive hub connected to the front cover. The lock-up clutch has a drive disc provided in the drive hub, a driven disc coaxially disposed to the drive disc, and a driven hub provided with the driven disc, and a torsional damper comprising a retaining plate disposed between the lock-up clutch and the turbine. Engine torque is transmitted to the retaining plate through the front cover by a frictional contact between the drive disc and the driven disc.

摘要: The present invention provides improved, real time sensing of pressure supplied to the hydraulic operator of a clutch for a motor vehicle driveline power take off. A proportional sensor in the hydraulic line to the power take off clutch actuator provides a data signal in real time of the actual pressure applied to the clutch actuator. This signal is provided to the power take off control module (PCM) and/or to the transmission control module (TCM). The power take off control module, having instantaneous data regarding the pressure applied to the hydraulic operator achieves two important operating functions: monitoring and feedback.
