    Abstract: An electrical switch unit for use with a variable speed electrical device includes a housing for a pair of electrical switching contacts, and an actuator operably connected with one of those contacts. A signaling module is associated with the electrical switch unit, and has signaling circuitry for sensing the movement of the actuator and outputting a signaling module signal indicative of the sensed movement or position of the actuator. A power module with a power switching device controllably supplies power from the DC power source to the DC motor at a speed corresponding to the sensed movement or position of the actuator. A control module receives the signaling module signal, and outputs a control module signal to control the power module.

    Abstract: A trigger assembly for an electrical device that includes a main body having a housing within which an electrical switch unit is disposed. The trigger assembly may include a trigger member having an engagement portion that is hingedly connected to the main body so that the trigger member is rotatable about a hinge relative to the main body. The trigger assembly may include an actuator member operably-connected to the trigger member that is movable between an OFF position and an ON position. The trigger assembly may include a lock-off mechanism including a lock-off member that is selectively operable to restrict movement of the trigger member towards the main body and to thereby restrict movement of the actuator member from the OFF position into the ON position, and, to not restrict movement of the trigger member toward the main body.

    Abstract: A control system for use in controlling operation of an electrical appliance, the system including: a processor module disposed inside of a housing of the electrical appliance, said processor module including at least one contactless-type sensor operably-connected with the processor module; an input control module including: an attachment element configured for releasably attaching the input control module to an outer surface of the housing; and at least one sensor-readable element configured for contactless-interaction with the contactless-type sensor; wherein said at least one sensor-readable element of the input control module is configured for movement into a plurality of different positions relative to the at least one contactless-type sensor of the processor module disposed inside the housing, whereby responsive to said movement of the at least one sensor-readable element into the plurality of different positions relative to the at least one contactless-type sensor, the contactless-type sensor is configured to sense a plurality of different readings from the sensor-readable element, and, said processor module is configured for controlling the electrical appliance to operate in a plurality of different operational modes by reference to the plurality of different readings sensed by the contactless-type sensor.

    Abstract: An electrical switch unit for use with an electrical device to control operation of a DC motor of the electrical device, the electrical switch unit comprising: a housing which houses a pair of electrical switching contacts, and, an actuator operably connected with at least one of the pair of electrical switching contacts, the actuator being configured for movement relative to the pair of electrical switching contacts so as to arrange the pair of electrical switching contacts into at least one of a closed configuration wherein power is able to be supplied from the DC power source to the DC motor via the pair of electrical switching contacts, and, an opened configuration wherein power is not able to be supplied from the DC power source to the DC motor via the pair of electrical switching contacts; a signaling module associated with the electrical switch unit comprising signaling circuitry for sensing the movement of the actuator and outputting a signaling module signal indicative of the sensed movement or position of the actuator; a power module comprising at least one power switching device for controllably supplying power from the DC power source to the DC motor; a control module comprising control circuitry for receiving the signaling module signal, and responsive to the received signaling module signal, outputting a control module signal to control the at least one power switching transistor device of the power module wherein the at least one power switching device controllably supplies power from the DC power source to the DC motor to allow operation of the DC motor at a speed corresponding to the sensed movement or position of the actuator; and wherein, the signaling module is integrally connected to a first end of the control module that is located within the electrical switch unit housing to allow relatively direct electrical communication between the pair of electrical switching contacts and the control module, and, whereby the control module is configured to extend outwardly of the electrical switch housing so as to terminate at a distal second end.

    Abstract: A control assembly for controlling a speed or torque of operation of an electric device includes a control assembly housing, a magnetic sensor, a magnetic element; and an actuator. The actuator moves relative to the control assembly and, responsive to that movement, the magnetic sensor and magnetic element are moved relative to each other between a first position and a second position so that the magnetic sensor senses a first magnetic field reading when in the first position and senses a second magnetic field reading when in the second position. A control module is operably connected to the magnetic sensor and configured for controlling the electric device, and a magnetic shielding element is positioned within the control assembly housing to alleviate a magnetic signal source external to the control assembly from interfering with the sensing by the magnetic sensor.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a motor encoder with a programmable and tactile feedback and an operation method thereof. The encoder includes: a rotary knob; a motor for providing virtual stopping, virtual termination and virtual elastic loading when the knob is turned, and generating a tactile feedback and resistance in different events; a position sensor for providing position information when the knob is started and in a movement process; a controller with a motor driver, wherein the controller is electrically connected with the motor and the position sensor respectively and used for obtaining a position feedback from the position sensor and driving the motor to form closed-loop torque feedback control; and an input interface electrically connected with the controller and used for inputting instruction information to the controller.
