摘要: A heater, in particular a motor vehicle heater operated with liquid fuel in which the fuel to be fed to the burner of the heater is preheated using the thermal energy of the combustion gases in the discharge area of the heater to guarantee reliable operation of the heater even at low temperatures, and to prevent paraffin separations, especially with diesel fuel in advance of filter devices in the fuel supply of the burner. For this purpose, a fuel preheating pipe section is provided that can be made in the form of a spiral-shaped pipe loop and that is placed in the flow of combustion gases, which have passed through the heat exchanger of the heater. Since the fuel is warmed in the fuel flow pipe before passage through the filter device, clogging of the filter device is avoided. In accordance with various embodiments the fuel preheating pipe section can be placed in an exhaust gas collecting chamber of the heater or in an exhaust gas discharge connection. Another embodiment feature includes the provision of a second heat exchanger that warms the fuel to being fed to the internal combustion engine using the liquid coolant that was previously warmed in the motor vehicle heater and which also serves as the heat exchange medium for the heat exchanger of the heater.

摘要: A fuel-operated vehicle heater especially of the type intended as an auxiliary or additional vehicle heater and which has a nozzle sitting on a nozzle holder to which fuel is fed from a fuel line by a filter, a fuel pump and an interposed solenoid valve. In a preferred embodiment heater, the nozzle holder, fuel pump, filter and solenoid valve form a subassembly that can be handled as a single unit. Advantageously, this subassembly can be fastened by screws to a flange within a housing part of the heater. On this flange can also be fastened an ignition spark emitter an a central connecting device, such as a burner motor. Advantageously, the feed line and/or the return line for the fuel supply are formed in the flange.

摘要: A vehicle heating system having an additional heating component that can operate independently of the internal combustion engine is provided. When the additional heating component is not operating, the water flows through the coolant circuit loop between the internal combustion engine and the typical heat exchanger in a customary manner. The additional heating component includes a thermostatically actuated switching element which is designed in such a way that with the additional heating component operating, the water heated thereby flows exclusively through the traditional heat exchanger at a temperature below that set by the thermostatically actuated switching element. At a water temperature above that set by the thermostatically actuated switching element, the coolant heated by the additional heating component flows through the traditional heat exchanger and additionally through the internal combustion engine. In order to provide sufficient flow of coolant from the additional heating component through the internal combustion engine a device for creating a vacuum is disposed in the coolant circuit at the point where water flowing through the additional heating component enters the coolant circuit.
