    摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and method for manufacturing the same in which a plurality of patterns are formed on one substrate reduces the manufacturing cost and simplifies the process steps by minimizing the number of masks required to form the patterns. The LCD device includes first and second substrates, a thin film transistor (TFT) formed in a predetermined region on the first substrate, a pixel electrode formed in a pixel region on the first substrate, a color filter layer formed on the pixel electrode, a black matrix pattern formed in a region other than the pixel electrode, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the first and second substrates. The method for manufacturing the LCD device having a pixel region defined by gate and data lines, includes the steps of forming a TFT on a first substrate, forming a black matrix pattern in a region other than the pixel region, forming a pixel electrode in the pixel region, and forming a color filter layer on the pixel electrode.

    摘要: An LCD panel includes a plurality of gate lines and gate electrodes formed on a substrate and a gate insulating film formed on the substrate including the gate lines and the gate electrodes. A semiconductor film is formed in a region on the gate insulating film and an ohmic contact film formed on the semiconductor film. A plurality of data lines cross the gate lines; a source electrode is formed on the ohmic contact film; and a pixel electrode is formed in a pixel region defined by the gate and data lines. A drain electrode is formed on the ohmic contact film, and has an uneven width. Since a portion of drain electrode that overlaps with the gate electrode has a smaller width than a width of other portions of the drain electrode, variation in an area of the drain electrode overlapped with the gate electrode is small, so that variation of the parasitic capacitance can be reduced, thereby improving picture quality.

In the liquid crystal display, a gate dummy pattern is formed in such a manner to be extended in the vertical direction from the gate line and to overlap with the data line and the pixel electrode. The gate dummy pattern branches from the gate line, overlaps the edge of a pixel, serves a storage electrode and a black matrix, and permits repair upon breakage of a data line.

    摘要: An LCD panel includes a plurality of gate lines and gate electrodes formed on a substrate and a gate insulating film formed on the substrate including the gate lines and the gate electrodes. A semiconductor film is formed in a region on the gate insulating film and an ohmic contact film formed on the semiconductor film. The organic protective film and a gate insulating film are patterned in such a manner that the sealant comes into contact with a substrate directly. Accordingly, the organic protective film or the gate insulating film at the area coated with the sealant is partially or entirely removed to directly contact the sealant with the gate insulating film or the lower glass, thereby strengthening the adhesion between the sealant and the lower plate.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device with a repair structure that facilitates repair of a short circuit or an open circuit. In the device, a gate line is formed on an insulating substrate and a gate electrode is integral to the gate line. A semiconductor layer is formed on the gate electrode with having an insulating film therebetween. A data line is crossed with the gate electrode, and a source electrode is integral to the data line on the semiconductor layer and the gate electrode. A drain electrode is spaced oppositely the source electrode. A protective film has a first contact hole at the drain electrode. A pixel electrode is formed on the protective film and is connected, via the contact hole, to the drain electrode. The pixel electrode has an area overlapped partially with the data line and is spaced from the gate line by a desired length (α) at one or more corners thereof. A storage electrode extends from the pixel electrode to be overlapped partially with the gate line and is spaced from the data line by a desired width (δ) at one or more corners thereof.
