Abstract:
Apparatus and methods of implementing code space search of received signals are described herein. A code space search is implemented as a searcher that perform a subtask that is dynamically reconfigurable at each boundary of an initial integration time. Each particular subtask sets forth a programmable configuration of coherent integration hypothesis that are performed during the initial integration time. The searcher stores the results of the coherent integration hypothesis in a first portion of memory. A search accelerator operates on the initial integration results. The search accelerator can perform coherent integration of various frequency bins of different timing hypothesis, can generate energy values of the coherent integration results, and can generate a non-coherent energy summation. The energy values of the coherent integrations and non-coherent energy summations are stored in a second portion of memory. The ability to reconfigure the subtasks and accelerator operation provides flexibility in search space dimensions.

Perpendicular magnetic recording media has been enhanced by controlling the initial growth of magnetic oxide layers and increased magnetic isolation between the grains in the initial magnetic layer. An onset magnetic oxide layer is sputter deposited in an argon-oxygen gas mixture between the main CoPtCr-oxide magnetic layers and the underlying Ru layer. The insertion of the onset magnetic oxide layer enhances the coercivity of the oxide magnetic layers and also improves the nucleation field. The media signal-to-noise ratio and bit error rate also are significantly improved due to the improvement of the initial segregation of Co magnetic grains in the magnetic oxide layers.

A database system and a method of optimizing cross-database query. The database system includes a plurality of databases. At least two of the databases are stored with one or more data collections composed of tables with the same structure. A federated view of the data collection is created on each of the databases. A request routing layer for routing, in response to a query request crossing the data collections, the query request crossing the data collections to one of the at least two databases according to a predetermined routing rule, so as to query by using the federated view of the database.

The present invention provides a hypolipidemic composition comprising peony extract and Codonopsis extract, or comprising water coextract of peony and Codonopsis, the weight ratio of the peony extract to Codonopsis extract in the composition is between 0.5 and 19:1. The advantages of the hypolipidemic composition are: substantially decreasing triglyceride and cholesterol, while increasing high density lipoprotein. It suggested of a favourable prospect of application.

A method and apparatus for Single Sign-on, wherein the user accesses a platform server and at least one service provider on the platform server. The method includes intercepting a request sent by the user via a client browser and extracting a domain name included in the request. If the domain name is an original domain name of the platform server, a global session ID is generated for uniquely identifying a session between the user and the platform server. A new domain name of the platform server associated with the global session ID is generated and the URL in the request is redirected to a new URL including the new domain name of the platform server. The request, including the new URL of the platform server, is forwarded to the platform server.

A method is described for improving recording performance of a perpendicular media. The method includes controlling the anisotropy levels in different sublayers of the magnetic recording layers of the perpendicular media. Further, the different sublayers thicknesses can be altered to match the media to a particular head.

The invention uses an adhesion layer of an amorphous alloy of aluminum. A first aluminum titanium embodiment of the amorphous adhesion layer preferably contains approximately equal amounts of aluminum and titanium (+/−5 at. %). A second embodiment of the amorphous adhesion layer preferably contains approximately equal amounts of aluminum and titanium (+/−5 at. %) and up to 10 at. % Zr with 5 at. % Zr being preferred. A third embodiment is aluminum tantalum preferably including from 15 to 25 at. % tantalum with 20 at. % being preferred. The most preferred compositions are Al50Ti50, Al47.5Ti47.5Zr5 or Al80Ta20. The adhesion layer is deposited onto the substrate. The substrate can be glass or a metal such as NiP-plated AlMg. The preferred embodiment of media according to the invention is for perpendicular recording and includes a magnetically soft underlayer deposited above the adhesion layer.

Improvements to magnetic recording device including magnetic recording media are described. The improvements include the addition of copper to the recording layer as well as improved underlayers. In addition, improved manufacturing processes and magnetic/recording properties for media through heating and oxidation are described.
