Various embodiments of the present technology involve the delivery of digital content via a synchronized content management system (CMS) in return for a payment. For example, a first user could send a share link containing a content item to a second user. Upon attempting to open the content item, the second user could be prompted to input payment information. In response to providing the payment information, the second user could select the share link enabling the second user to download the content item.

Various embodiments of the present technology involve a synchronized content management system (CMS) automatically receiving and storing content items associated with a digital content subscription in a single location. For example, the CMS can establish and maintain a persistent relationship with various service providers that enable the service providers to push content items to a respective user account at the CMS. The persistent relationship can, in one example, be a one-way relationship established using a security token to prevent a service provider from accessing other content items store in the user's account.

For example, the content management system can create a project folder (e.g., shared folder) for managing data associated with a project. The project folder can be shared with content management system users (e.g., project members) who are contributors to the project. The content management system can store project data (e.g., content items, communications, comments, tasks, etc.) related to the project in the project folder. When the project folder is selected by a user, the content management system can generate a project folder view that presents the project data associated with the project folder and/or project in a convenient and easy to access graphical user interface. The content management system can aggregate project data from various content items associated with the project and present the project data in a single graphical user interface.

Instead of requiring the user to register or provide their login credentials, the CMS can generate an unregistered user account using a unique identifier associated with the computing device. Accordingly, in order to share the content item, the CMS can generate a link to retrieve the content item and send the link to the second user. Thus, creation of an unregistered user account can require no login credentials, thereby providing a simple, user friendly interface for initiating interactions with the CMS.
