    摘要： An imaging reader has a two-dimensional array of image sensors for capturing return light from a two-dimensional symbol over a field of view as pixel data to be stored in internal random access memory (RAM) of a controller even though the internal RAM has less storage bytes than the number of sensors. The controller determines a size and a location of the symbol in the field of view, maps and subdivides the symbol into a plurality of image capture zones based on the symbol size and location, sequentially captures the return light from each zone, sequentially stores the pixel data from each zone into the internal RAM, sequentially digitizes the stored pixel data from each zone as digitized data, and decodes the digitized data from all the zones.

Multiple arrays of data values are interleaved into a combined array of data that simulates a frame of data for input to a data port such as a video port. Revised timing and synchronization signals are provided to permit transmission of the combined array according to video data port protocol. The processor includes instructions for locating the various arrays of data values within the combined array.

    摘要： A data capture terminal for, and a method of, automatically capturing data from targets located within a range of working distances from the terminal, employ a controller for automatically controlling a set of focal parameters of an imaging assembly, for storing one of the focal parameters of the imaging assembly upon a successful data capture from a first target, and for automatically selecting a subset of the focal parameters determined from the stored focal parameter to capture data from a second target. The subset is smaller than the set of the focal parameters and corresponds to a restricted zone within the range of working distances to enhance data capture performance of the terminal.

    摘要： A miniature imager for reading target images. The optical and electrical systems of the miniature imager are optimized to reduce one or more dimensions or the volume of the imager. In accordance with one embodiment the pixel pitch and focal length are decreased for that of a larger imager to maintain a comparable field of view for each pixel. The decreased pixel pitch allows the area of the aperture and the instantaneous field of view of the pixel to remain constant while decreasing the overall size of the imager. In other embodiments apparatus and techniques reduce and/or eliminate the need for illumination of a target by the imager thereby reducing the overall power consumed by the imager and/or its overall size. The imager has an increased working range.

    摘要： Methods and apparatus for improving direct part mark dataform decoding using a scanner comprising a processing unit, an optical module and an imaging sensor with an extended dynamic range. The scanner captures data to obtain an extended dynamic range image for analysis. In one embodiment, the sensor is sensitive to more than eight bits per pixel and in other embodiments multiple exposures are taken. Further in alternate embodiments, the scanner comprises a pass-band filter that passes the light emitted by an illumination module.
