摘要: An equipment usage monitoring system for use with an equipment. The system comprises: a processor in communication with: the equipment; an equipment sensor operable to provide equipment data associated with the equipment; and an alert member operable to provide an alert to a user of the equipment. The processor is operable to: receive the equipment data from the equipment sensor; determine that the equipment data achieves a warning threshold; cause the alert member to provide an alert to the user in response to the warning threshold being met; determine that the equipment data achieves a stoppage threshold; and transmit a stoppage signal to the equipment in response to the stoppage threshold being met, the stoppage signal causing the equipment to turn off. Advantageously, there is provided a system which may monitor the use of the equipment via the equipment sensor, which provides equipment data related to the equipment. Whilst monitoring the use of the equipment, the system also advantageously mitigates a risk of injury by alerting the user in response to a warning threshold being met, and turning off the equipment in response to a stoppage threshold being met.

The circuit breaker comprises: a signal acquisition module configured to acquire an electrical power signal indicative of the power supply; a circuit breaker mechanism configured to selectively interrupt the power supply to the one or more electrical appliances based on the electrical power signal; an event detection module configured to detect an event associated with operation of one or more of the electrical appliances based on electro-magnetic interference (EMI) generated by the event; and a feedback module configured to control one or more feedback actions in dependence on the detected event. The event detection module is configured to: identify one or more EMI features in the electrical power signal; compare the one or more identified EMI features to an event database comprising event records, and detect the event based on the comparison.

摘要: An electronic device comprises a motion sensor for monitoring the motion of the electronic device and a wireless communication system for communication with one or more others electronic devices of a proximity sensing system. The method comprises: scanning for communication signals transmitted to the wireless communication system from another electronic device; transmitting communication signals from the wireless communication system for detection by another electronic device; and when one or more communication signals are received from another electronic device, determining a proximity of users of the respective electronic devices based on the one or more received communications signals. The method further comprises optimising power usage of the wireless communication system by: detecting a change of the motion of the electronic device from a first motion state to a second motion state; and modifying the transmission of communication signals from the wireless communication system in dependence on the detected change.

摘要: One of the most important factors affecting the performance of athletes in club, bat or racket based sports is the athlete's grip on their club, bat or racket. Minor changes in grip position and force can have a significant on the outcome of a shot or other sporting action. Typically, athletes receive feedback on their grip, and the resulting shot, through coaching or practice. However, it is difficult for inexperienced athletes and coaches to correctly diagnose and fix grip faults. The present invention provides a grip analysis system, and method of use thereof, including an array of pressure sensors configured to detect a grip of a user on an object and a processor operable to analyse data from the array of pressure sensors and output at least one grip quality indicator corresponding to the grip of the user on the object.

摘要: Electronic training and feedback devices have been developed to provide accurate and impartial data or feedback to athletes of club, bat or racket based sports. However, the due to the requirements for these devices to be small and lightweight, their integral power sources typically have a small capacity and therefore require charging often. To charge these devices, the athlete must typically connect the device or their sports equipment to a mains power source after they have finished playing or practicing. However, the athlete may forget to charge their device, and the device may not hold enough charge to last the athlete's next session. Therefore, it is desirable to provide a charging system capable of simply and conveniently charging smart sports equipment. The present invention provides a smart sports equipment charging system (100) including a storage vessel (105) for storage of sports equipment (110), and at least two charging portions (130) within the storage vessel (105), such that sports equipment (110) including a rechargeable power source stored within the storage vessel (105) is chargeable with the respective charging portion (130).

摘要: An expandable component of a charging device comprising an outer boundary configured, in use, to be displaced. The expandable component also comprises a rotatable member, in communication with the outer boundary via a connecting member; and a guiding portion configured to translate a rotation of the rotatable member into a motion of the connecting member such that the outer boundary moves between a first position and a second position. The outer boundary is arranged to contact an inner wall of a container. The rotatable member is configured to rotate in response to a rotational input. The expandable component therefore preferably provides the charging device with an adjustable system that allows the charging device to integrate with any container by physically changing the dimensions of the expandable component to match the dimensions of the container. #

摘要: A method to be carried out at an electronic device for detecting proximity to another electronic device is described. The electronic devices are capable of interaction through both low-accuracy sensing and high accuracy sensing. Low-accuracy sensing is used until a potential proximity event is detected. High-accuracy sensing is then activated, and attempts are made using high-accuracy sensing to detect a further potential proximity event corresponding to the potential proximity event. A determination is then made as to whether a proximity event has taken place—this is done using the further potential proximity event if detected, and using the potential proximity event otherwise. A suitable electronic device is also described, as is a method of training electronic devices to detect proximity to other electronic devices using a proximity estimation algorithm.
