    Abstract: A circuit breaker for controlling a power supply to electrical appliances connected to a power line. The circuit breaker comprises: a signal acquisition module configured to acquire an electrical power signal indicative of the power supply; a circuit breaker mechanism configured to selectively interrupt the power supply to the one or more electrical appliances based on the electrical power signal; an event detection module configured to detect an event associated with operation of one or more of the electrical appliances based on electro-magnetic interference (EMI) generated by the event; and a feedback module configured to control one or more feedback actions in dependence on the detected event. The event detection module is configured to: identify one or more EMI features in the electrical power signal; compare the one or more identified EMI features to an event database comprising event records, and detect the event based on the comparison.

    Abstract: A temporary power delivery system includes a power source, a booth stringer, and a portable GFCI device. The GFCI device is receives current from the power source by a first terminal and delivers current to the booth stringer by a second terminal. An electronic processor of the GFCI device compares a combined magnitude of current flowing through first and second phase conductors of the GFCI device to a magnitude of current flowing through a neutral conductor of the GFCI. The electronic processor also compares a first voltage between the first phase conductor and neutral conductor to a second voltage between the second phase conductor and neutral conductor. A circuit breaker of the GFCI device is opened if a difference between the combined magnitude of phase conductor current and neutral conductor current exceeds a first threshold or a difference between the first voltage and second voltage exceeds a second threshold.

    Abstract: A photovoltaic power generation system includes a capacitor bridge arm, an inverter bridge arm, and the fault protection apparatus. The capacitor bridge arm includes a positive electrode output port, a negative electrode output port, and a reference output port The inverter bridge arm includes a positive electrode input port, a negative electrode input port, and a reference input port. The reference input port is connected to the reference output port by using the fault protection apparatus.     Abstract: In a DC circuit breaker device, first and second semiconductor switches are connected in series on a main circuit line such that current-carrying directions of the switches are opposite to each other. A first diode is connected in anti-parallel with the first semiconductor switch, and a second diode is connected in anti-parallel with the second semiconductor switch. First and second mechanical circuit breakers are connected in series with each other and in parallel with the whole of the first and semiconductor switches. First and second backward current generation circuits are connected in series with each other and in parallel with the whole of the first and second mechanical circuit breakers. An injection switch is connected between a node between the first and second mechanical circuit breakers and a node between the first and second backward current generation circuits.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for protecting DC circuits are provided. In an aspect, a method for controlling at least one protection circuit is disclosed. The method can monitor one or more parameters of the at least one protection circuit.
