Abstract: Apparatus for automatically removing box lids from a first conveyor and placing such lids on boxes carried by a second conveyor. The apparatus includes a carriage having first and second lid pickup devices in which the first lid pickup device removes a box lid from a lid holding station on the first conveyor and transfers the lid to a ready pickup station. Simultaneously the second pickup mechanism removes a box lid from the ready pickup station and places such lid on a box located at a box holding station on the second conveyor. The apparatus includes electrical and fluid systems arranged in a manner that the lids will be placed on the boxes or containers automatically without an operator being present after the apparatus has been started.

Abstract: This invention describes a demountable type of air deflector device in the form of a triangular prism which can be attached to the upper front wall of a large van or semitrailer, and which extends over the top of the cab. The triangular shaped structure can have a closed top and bottom or, if desired, apparatus such as a refrigerating unit may be placed on the front wall of the van and air allowed to pass up through the air deflector past the refrigerating unit and up over the top of the van. Shock mounts may be provided for attaching the structure to the van, and means are provided for rapidly removing the deflector device as occasion demands.

Abstract: This invention provides an apparatus for loading, unloading and turning over from one side to another, a stack of paper for printing machines and the like. The apparatus comprises a movable horizontal base, a support rod mounted on the base and extending vertically upward therefrom, the rod having a sleeve slidably mounted thereon, a turning head rotatably connected to the sleeve of the support rod, the turning head being arranged to rotate clockwise and counterclockwise, a rack connected to the turning head, the rack being arranged to securely hold a stack of paper and to rotate in the same manner as the turning head, means for raising and lowering the rack and for compressing the stack of paper held by the rack, and locking means arranged to allow the rack to rotate and to hold the rack stationary before and after being rotated.
