Abstract: Disclosed are chain carriers for motor vehicles. One carrier comprises at least a hook member positioned against the convex wall of a Bud-type wheel and a strap engaging member positioned against the concave wall. The two members are joined together by means of bolts passing through a hand hole of the wheel. A plurality of such carriers are positioned so that the wheel is in balance. A second carrier comprises a hook member on the top or upper surface of a spacer rim and a strap engaging member is on the bottom or lower surface. The two members are secured to the rim and the strap engaging member extends between the spokes of a spoke-type dual wheel assembly. A plurality of such carriers are spaced about the rim so that the wheel is in balance.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for the treatment of sewage and waste comprising an enclosed pressurized vessel for receiving transported sewage and for treating the same to provide biological and chemical oxidation and sterilization and undesirable color, taste, odor, phenol, cyanide and phosphate reduction and the combination therewith of transporting, from a point of collection to the point of treatment, liquid sewage and waste which has tendencies to become septic and build up undesirable chemicals, gases, odors, bacteria and the like during the transportation due to the lack of proper oxygen content therein and devices positioned directly in the sewage as it is transported for supplying oxygen thereto to prevent the same from becoming septic, control the build-up of the aforesaid undesirables and stimulate growth of desirable aerobic bacteria. The preferred pressurized vessel receives high purity oxygen as O2 or O3 in an upper portion thereof to define a pressurized gaseous oxygen atmosphere and includes a device for injecting a stream of the sewage into the gaseous atmosphere and against a comminutor device for breaking the sewage into small particles to allow the sewage and waste to quickly absorb the oxygen under pressure to provide rapid biological and chemical oxidation and ozone sterilization and reduce the aforesaid undesirables.

Abstract: An electronic race-calling system adapted to generate data enabling representation of the order and relative lead of race entries at call points along the race course, and at the finish line of the course. The system includes a plurality of pickup loops stationed at call points around the track, which loops coact with transmitters carried by the several entries and operating on distinct frequencies. The received signals at a given point are furnished to a common transmission line in a random sequence, are separated, and converted to logic signal levels by individual amplifiers. The amplifier outputs are coupled to logic and memory circuits which are continuously interrogated by scan pulses to determine signal receipt. When a signal is received the channel logic produces a single output scan pulse, which is inputed to an entry encoder, which outputs codes representing the entry number. The entry encoder outputs a scan pulse on a common line whenever one is inputed to it by any channel logic circuit. Such pulse gates discrete sets of timing pulses which thereupon control the signal processing cycle. The lengths between entries are developed by measuring the time interval between each pair of consecutive entry loop crossings, using counting means. The developed information is transferred into appropriate memory circuits, which through decoders and drivers enables the information to be displayed on boards at the race track or enables the corresponding data to be transmitted to a remote utilization point.

Abstract: Apparatus having upper and lower rotary cutter heads for planing stock advanced therethrough. The stock is uniformly gripped and advanced by opposed pairs of roller assemblies regardless of irregularities or variations in the thickness of the stock. Each roller assembly pair includes a plurality of axially aligned, pneumatic tires coupled together for rotation by keyed hub members and driven by hydraulic means.
