    Abstract: A plasma ignition device for internal combustion engines is described. It comprises a driving and analog and/or digital control unit, an ignition coil and a spark plug, interconnected each other in a circuit by means of electrical/electronic connection means. The ignition coil comprises two primary windings connected in series each other, having a central electrical connection between the first primary winding and the second primary winding, for electrically charging a capacitor, connected in series to the two primary windings, and for magnetically charging a magnetic core magnetically coupled to a secondary winding of the ignition coil, in order to generate a potential difference across a discharge “gap” of a spark plug.

    Abstract: A power supply system includes a power supply circuit, a sensor of the current flowing through a terminal of the power supply circuit and a protection circuit. The protection circuit includes a differentiator adapted to measure a slope of a current measurement signal and comprises a driving stage.     Abstract: An electronic device for controlling an ignition coil of an internal combustion engine includes a high voltage switch, a driving unit and a control unit. The driving unit controls the closure of the switch during charging energy in the primary winding and the opening of the switch during transferring energy from the primary winding to a secondary winding. A current measuring circuit is connected in series to a second terminal of the secondary winding to detect current generated on the secondary winding during the charging step and generate a signal representative of the detected current. The control unit receives the signal representative of the current detected by the measuring circuit, compares a relevant value of such signal with a predefined first reference value and activates a mode for detecting a soiling of the spark plug when the relevant value of the signal exceeds said predefined first reference value.
