    Abstract: An eyewear is adapted for fitting a user's face and for determining an eye direction of a user's eye. The eyewear is provided with at least three light sensors each configured for outputting a measured light intensity value that corresponds to ambient light originating from surroundings of the user outside the eyewear and reflected or scattered by the user's eye. A processing unit of the eyewear determines the eye direction from the measured light intensity values.

    Abstract: An optical article that includes an ophthalmic lens that includes a substrate, a first layer comprising liquid crystals being disposed on at least part of the substrate, and a first and a second electrode made of a conductive material, and a voltage source electrically connected to the first and second electrodes and configured to control an orientation of the liquid crystals depending on the voltage applied. The ophthalmic lens further includes a second layer made of photoconductive material placed between the electrodes, and the optical article further includes a light projector configured to project a light pattern on the second layer of the ophthalmic lens, the second layer being locally conductive when illuminated by the light pattern, the light pattern corresponding to a pattern of refractive index modification to be induced by the liquid crystals of the first layer.

    Abstract: Disclosed are assessment devices and methods to assess eyesight. In one embodiment, an eyesight assessment device includes a medium having one or more imaging functionalities and operable to project images for display based on the one or more imaging functionalities. The device also includes an optical source operable to project light and being positioned at one or more positions relative to the medium, such that at least one of images are projected from the medium based on the position of the optical source relative to the medium and the one or more imaging functionalities of the medium, where each image corresponds to an object provided for display at a virtual distance relative to a user of the eyesight assessment device, and where each image includes one or more of user assessable display characteristics that are indicative of a visual condition of the user.

    Abstract: A lens element intended to be worn in front of an eye of a wearer, the lens element being adapted to provide a prescribed dioptric correction function in a prescription plane, the lens element including an arrangement of microoptical elements. When receiving a collimated beam of monochromatic light, the lens element is configured to produce a primary luminous intensity maximum in a prescription plane, and the arrangement of microoptical elements is configured to produce at least one first secondary luminous intensity maximum at a first proximity difference from the prescription plane and at least one second secondary luminous intensity maximum at a second proximity difference from the prescription plane, the first proximity difference and the second proximity difference having opposite signs.
