摘要： An input apparatus is provided which comprises a thumbwheel integrated with a rotational shaft which rotates and oscillates, an encoder (a rotation detector) for detecting a rotational amount of the rotational shaft, and a switch operated by oscillation of the rotational shaft, wherein a first gearwheel (a rotational element) is provided between the rotational shaft and the encoder, and wherein the rotational shaft is connected to the first gearwheel in such a manner as not only to oscillate but also to transmit the rotation of the rotational shaft to the first gearwheel. Operation load applied when the thumbwheel is operated to be pushed to thereby operate the switch is applied not to the encoder but to the first gearwheel to which the rotational shaft is connected.

Thereby, an integrating performance can be promoted in comparison with that of a structure of squeezing the slider by 2 parts. Further, a clearance in a height direction of the slider can be controlled by one part of the insulator, and therefore, a variation thereof can be reduced in comparison with that of the case of controlling the clearance by 2 parts.

摘要： When a car driver has backwardly pushed a four-way knob, both legs of a push knob slidably move along a guide surface of an internal pusher member, whereby the four-way knob is tilted along with the push knob. When the car driver has backwardly pushed the push knob while the push knob and the four-way knob remain tilted, the push knob linearly, backwardly moves in conjunction with the four-way knob, whereby an internal switch and an external switch are operated. Therefore, the push knob can be illuminated by an internal LED of a switching board by way of a through hole of the internal pusher member.

摘要： A cancel mechanism of a turn indicator includes a projection adapted to rotate along an outer circumference of a steering wheel shaft. A bracket is positioned around at least portions of the outer circumference of the shaft. The bracket is rotatable in a generally circumferential direction around the shaft between an inactive position and an active position. A ratchet, having a first and second end, is positioned with its first and second ends in slidable engagement with associated first and second ends of the bracket. The ratchet also includes a projection retaining portion for retaining the projection when the shaft is turned in a canceling direction thereby returning the bracket to the inactive position. A biasing mechanism biases the ratchet toward the bracket. When the bracket is positioned in the active position and the shaft is turned in a direction opposite to the canceling direction, the projection comes into contact with the ratchet (i) causing the first end of the ratchet to slide along the first end of the bracket in a generally radially outward direction relative to the shaft and (ii) causing the second end of the ratchet to slide along the second end of the bracket in a generally radially inward direction relative to the shaft, thereby allowing the projection to pass by the ratchet without substantially moving the bracket.

摘要： An illuminated switch comprising a four-way knob and a push knob, wherein the push knob has two legs which slide along a guide surface on an internal pusher member. Tilt activation of the four-way knob results in the push knob also being tilted. When the user has pushed the push knob while the push knob and the four-way knob are in a tilted position, the push knob in conjunction with the four-way knob linearly move backward in the pushed direction, whereby an internal switch and an external switch are operated. The push knob is illuminated by an internal LED by way of a through hole in the internal pusher member.
