摘要： A connector has a housing (2) with cavities (4) for accommodating both crimping and insulation-displacement terminal fittings (5, 6). Locks (15) extend into the cavities (4) to elastically engage the terminal fittings (5, 6). A retainer mount opening (17) extends through an outer wall of the housing (2) and communicates with the cavities (4), and a retainer (3) is mounted in the opening (17) for doubly locking the terminal fittings (5, 6). Connecting portions (8) of the same shape are provided at the front of the terminal fittings (5, 6). The height of insulation-displacement portions (7) is shorter than that of the connecting portion (8) in the insulation-displacement terminal fitting (5), and terminal locks (18) of the retainer (3) engage with steps (8A) at the rear of the connecting portions (8). The retainer (3) can be pushed to a full locking position after the terminal fittings (5, 6) are mounted with the housing (2) to redundantly lock the terminal fittings (5, 6) in the cavities (4).

The recesses (14a, 14b, 23a, 23b) are symmetrically arranged in the left and right engaging portions (10a, 10b). Transversely symmetrical identification pieces (19a, 19b) project from the leading ends of terminals (15a, 15b). In the case of a correct correspondence of the electrodes (11a, 11b) and the terminals (15a, 15b), the identification pieces (19a, 19b) fit into the recesses (14a, 14b, 23a, 23b), enabling assembling of the terminals (15a, 15b) with the electrodes (11a, 11b). In the case of an incorrect correspondence, the identification pieces (19a, 19b) cannot be fitted into the recesses (14a, 14b, 23a, 23b) and interfere with the upper surface of the battery (B), making assembling impossible.

摘要： There is provided a male contact having improved electrical contact reliability with a female contact. The male contact has a mating section capable of being formed compactly using a plate member having a plate thickness satisfying a desired strength requirement. The male contact 1 has a mating section 10 formed in such a manner that two plate members 11 and 12, which individually extend from a base 20, are superimposed on one another by folding on the base 20. The mating section 10 has flat sections 15 extending in a mating direction P, wherein outer surfaces of the two plate members 11-1 and 12-1 are formed flat. A tip 13 of one of the two plate members 12 is folded to overlap a tip 14 of the other plate member 11. This feature makes it hard to open the plate members 11 and 12 when the male contact is mated with the female contact.

摘要： A terminal cap (10) is provided to prevent erroneous use of a booster cable to connect batteries that have different specifications. The terminal cap (10) is mounted to cover a battery terminal (T) to be connected with one of electrodes of a 32V-battery. The terminal cap (10) has protection walls (20) that extend from a first accommodating portion (11a) for accommodating a connecting portion (7) of the battery terminal (T). The protection walls (20) are formed to be higher than a threaded shaft (1) of the electrode. Thus, even if an attempt is made to erroneously connect a booster cable, the protection walls (20) will interfere with the booster cable and prevent connection with the electrode located inside the protection walls (20).

摘要： Cavities capable of housing terminal fittings connected with the ends of electric wires W are provided inside of a housing. A rear assembly is assembled at the rear of the housing. The rear assembly includes a cover formed of a quality of material having no elasticity and a waterproof member formed of a quality of material having elasticity. The waterproof member further includes a wire seal part that surrounds and waterproofs electric wires, and a housing seal part that seals between the two housings. A clearance is provided about a periphery between the outer peripheral face of the wire seal part and the housing seal part. Even if the material of the wire seal part is deformed during the insertion operation of the electric wires, the insertion operation of the electric wires can be smoothly carried out to the last wire because the clearance absorbs the deformation of the entire wire seal part.

摘要： A connector (10) has a holder (11), auxiliary connectors (60) and a retainer (34). The retainer (34) has slanted surfaces (38A) and a vertical wall (39A). The slanted surfaces (38A) engage an opening-end surface (57A) of a mating connector (50) to guide the retainer (34) into a proper position if the auxiliary connectors (60) are inserted to proper positions. However the vertical wall (39A) contacts the opening-end surface (57A) if the auxiliary connectors (60) are not pushed to the proper positions. Thus, the fitting operation cannot be completed and the improperly inserted auxiliary connector (60) is detected.
