摘要: An optical information recording medium of the type wherein recorded data signals are reproduced by scanning them with a laser beam. The medium comprises a ROM region where optically readable pits are already formed and an information recordable region where optically readable pits can be formed by irradiation with a writing laser beam. The infomation recordable region comprises a light transmitting substrate having a deformable surface, a light absorptive layer overlaying the deformable surface, which absorbs the writing laser beam, and a light reflective layer overlaying the light absorptive layer. The deformable surface is deformable by energy generated upon absorption of the writing laser beam by the light absorptive layer, to thereby form optically readable pits.

摘要: An optical information recording medium comprising a substrate, an optical recording layer formed over the surface of the substrate, and a protective layer covering the optical recording layer. The protective layer incorporates an antireflection means, such as a laser beam absorbing means, a laser beam scattering means or a laser beam transmitting means, for preventing the reflection of a laser beam applied to the optical recording layer.An optical information recording medium of a second embodiment of the present invention, comprises a substrate, an optical recording layer formed over the surface of the substrate, a protective layer covering the optical recording layer, and a buffer layer interposed between the optical recording layer and the protective layer. At least one of the protective layer or the buffer layer incorporates at least one antireflection means, such as a laser beam absorbing means, a laser beam scattering means and a laser beam transmitting means, for preventing the reflection of a laser beam. The buffer layer facilitates precisely forming recording bits in the optical recording layer by locally deforming the optical recording layer by a laser beam.

摘要: A method for optically recording information on an optical information recording medium comprising a light transmitting substrate, a light absorptive layer overlaying the substrate to absorb a laser beam and a light reflective layer overlaying the light absorptive layer, which comprises energizing the light absorptive layer by a laser beam entered through the light transmitting substrate, and locally deforming, by the energy thereby generated by the light absorptive layer, a surface layer of the substrate adjacent to the light absorptive layer, to form optically readable pits in the surface layer of the substrate.

摘要: The present invention pertains to an optical information recording medium featuring a layered surface composition. A first surface is made of a light transmitting substrate, which has a second light absorptive layer which is laid on top of the light transmitting substrate. A light reflective layer is laid on top of the light absorptive layer. The light transmitting substrate will have a surface layer, which is adjacent to the light absorptive layer. This surface layer, is deformable by energy generated upon absorption of a laser beam by the light absorptive layer, to thereby form optically readable pits.
