The invention concerns a device for dispensing bulk materials through a rotary chute with variable angle of inclination comprising an underslung rotor mounted in a supporting frame so as to rotate about a substantially vertical axis of rotation. The chute is suspended from the rotor so as to pivot about a substantially horizontal axis of suspension. A mechanism for pivoting the chute comprises a hydraulic motor mounted on the underslung rotor. A hydraulic connecting device comprises a sleeve fixed in rotation and a rotary sleeve driven in rotation by the rotor. The sleeves co-operate to connect the hydraulic motor to a control hydraulic circuit fixed in rotation. A duct feeding the chute passes through the two sleeves. The device can advantageously equip a shaft furnace.

A lower sealing member encompasses a closing off element set out below the bell and is capable of moving axially with respect to the latter, and a seat is mounted below the discharge opening. The closing off element is equipped with an inflatable seal, and its seat is equipped with a first peripheral sealing surface which is substantially vertical or points downwardly. The inflatable seal interacts with the first sealing surface in order to ensure sealing of the pressurized enclosure with respect to the hopper.

The chute is provided with two lateral suspension arms which are connected to the suspension rotor. A driving mechanism produces a pivoting torque capable of pivoting the chute, while a cylindrical suspension pin is associated with each suspension arm for pivotably connecting it to the suspension rotor. A control lever is connected to the suspension rotor, the driving mechanism being connected to the control lever so as to transmit to the latter the pivoting torque. A stop on the control lever and a counterstop on a suspension arm engage with each other to transmit the pivoting torque to the suspension arm. The stop and the counterstop are disengagable by a translation movement of the two suspension arms after withdrawal of the cylindrical suspension pins for removal of the chute.

Said leakage flow is then collected and drained without passing through the cooling circuit (36, 38).

The transverse plates create retaining pockets between their inner faces and the surface of the distributor chute. If the inclination of the chute is reduced, the bulk material moves from the retaining pocket to the retaining chamber.

An apparatus for driving an oscillating spout capable of pivoting about two orthogonal axes under the action of a pivoting control arm having the same degrees of liberties as the spout is presented. The driving apparatus includes a control mechanism which directs the control arm to perform the movement required by the spout and a transmission device which acts to transmit the control arm movement to the spout to reproduce it as spout movement, and vice versa. The apparatus further includes a rotary internal housing supported on a support frame via a bearing member and enclosed by an outer housing or cowl. The rotary housing is associated with a toothed rim which is actuated by a first motor fixed to or adjacent to the support frame. A control mechanism is also provided which includes a driving rod which is coaxial with the rotary internal housing and which is capable of sliding in the axial direction. The control mechanism is associated with a second motor which is also adjacent to or fixed to the support frame. A pivotal connecting means consisting of a central body and two diametrically opposed pivots is mounted on the lower end of the driving rod via one or more bearings in such a way so as to be freely rotatable in relation to the rod (and in conjunction with the rotary housing) but integral therewith with regard to vertical or axial movement. The pivotal connecting means is associated with the rotary housing such that a high rate of rotation may be transferred thereto.
