    摘要: A radio terminal is organized to send a first access signal then, when it receives a positive acknowledgement from a base station, a second access signal, resources of the communication network being allocated to the radio terminal after receipt of the said second access signal at the base station. At a base station, the first access signal sent by a radio terminal is received and the communication service requested by the terminal is detected therein. In conditional manner, depending on the detected communication service, a receive power of the first access signal is measured, the measured receive power is compared with a threshold, and the transmission of a positive acknowledgement of the first access signal to the radio terminal is inhibited, when the measured receive power is greater than the said threshold.

    摘要: In certain circumstances, a mobile radiocommunication terminal estimates an initial radio signal transmission power, i.e. a random access request, to a base station located within the range thereof. If it is very close to said station, said initial estimated power can be lower, even greatly lower, than the minimum transmission power of the mobile terminal. In order to limit interference with other communications in progress, the transmission of said signals is inhibited if the difference between the minimum transmission power and the initial estimated power lies beyond a predefined threshold.

    摘要: The cellular system has a radio access network comprising base stations and a controller to which a wireless local area network is linked. A terminal is authenticated with the cellular system through the radio access network, and in response an authentication token allocated thereto. The allocated token is transmitted from the controller to the terminal through the radio access network. The allocated token and an identifier of the terminal are further transmitted from the controller to an authentication server accessible through said wireless network. The terminal is authenticated with the wireless network by verifying that the terminal possesses the token transmitted to said authentication server.

    摘要: A base station (2a,2b,2c) which can communicate with radio terminals on common and dedicated channels according to specific speeds, is provided with a band-pass which is available according to the use of the common and dedicated channels in order to receive data from a radio terminal on a high-speed uplink channel. An available band-pass is determined in the base station in order to receive the data from at least one radio terminal (1) on at least one high-speed dedicated uplink channel. A first indication relating to the available band-pass is subsequently transmitted on a common downlink channel. At least one second indication relating to a percentage of the available band-pass which should not be exceeded by the radio terminal during a forthcoming transmission on said high-speed dedicated uplink channel is then transmitted independently for each radio terminal.

When a change in the common configuration is necessary, the system transmits a radio link configuration change message to each of the base station transceivers and the mobile terminal and waits before implementation of the radio link configuration change until an acknowledgement has been received from at least one base station transceiver in transmitting communication with the mobile terminal, at least one base station transceiver in receiving communication with the mobile terminal and the mobile terminal.

    摘要: A mobile radio telecommunications system is described in which the same user message is transmitted with forward error correction (FEC) codes on three separate channels to a receiver. The FEC codes for the three signals are different, e.g. different bits are punctured in the first signal compared with the second signal and so on. The receiver includes a plurality of data receivers for extracting the receiver signals as well as a forward error correction decoder for substantially simultaneously decoding the differently forward error correction coded signals. The extracted decoded signals can be used individually or combined in a variety of ways to improve reception.
