    摘要: A veress needle including a housing, a first optical insert for contact viewing, and a second optical insert for distance viewing. The housing including one or more insufflation conduits and an elongate member. The one or more insufflation conduits being adapted to permit the passage and reception of at least one fluid therethrough. The housing defines a passage therethrough. The first and second optical inserts are operably associated with the housing and removably positionable within the passage of the housing while the elongate member remains positioned within tissue. Each optical insert includes an optical assembly having one or more lenses and an ocular. The one or more lenses are adapted to receive an image and transmit the image to the ocular so that the image is perceptible through the ocular.

    摘要: A thermal regulating cushioning device for heating and/or cooling is provided. The thermal regulating device comprises a flexible, deformable outer membrane being adapted to sealably receive a liquid-like material therein. A foam core is disposed within the flexible, deformable outer membrane wherein the foam core has a dimension substantially coincident with the outer membrane. A liquid-like material is sealably contained within the flexible, deformable outer membrane and saturating the foam core with the liquid material being at least partially circulatable through the foam core wherein the cooperation of the saturated foam core and the sealable flexible membrane provide a uniform, thermal regulating medium and structural support such that the cushioning device is readily, uniformly deformable when a load is applied thereto. An external heater and/or cooler circulates the liquid through the cushioning device.

    摘要: A thermal regulating cushioning device includes a flexible, deformable outer membrane and a foam core contained therein having a dimension substantially coincident with the outer membrane. A liquid-like material is sealably contained within the outer membrane and saturates the foam core with the liquid-like material being at least partially circulatable through the foam core. The cooperation of the saturated foam core and the sealable flexible membrane provide a uniform, thermal regulating medium and structural support such that the cushioning device is readily, uniformly deformable when a load is applied thereto.

    摘要: A wireless laparoscopic camera system includes a housing having proximal and distal ends and a lens disposed at the distal end thereof. A chip package is disposed within the housing. The chip package is positioned proximally of the lens and includes an image sensor, a processing component, and a wireless transmitter. The image sensor, the processing component, and the wireless transmitter are configured as bare die and are stacked and coupled in sequence with respect to one another to form the chip package. The chip package is configured to convert an optical image produced by the lens into an electrical signal. The signal is transmitted wirelessly to a wireless receiver positioned remote of the housing.

    摘要: An insufflation apparatus includes a housing defining a port for receipt of insufflation gases and an elongated sleeve defining a longitudinal axis. The elongated sleeve has a proximal end and a distal end and defines a sharpened tip. A stylet is disposed within the elongated sleeve. The stylet is movable between an extended position, wherein the stylet extends beyond the tip of the sleeve, and a retracted position, to expose the sharpened tip for penetration through body tissue. At least one of the elongated sleeve and the stylet defines a passageway in fluid communication with the port to direct the insufflation gases into a body cavity. An image sensor is positioned on the elongated sleeve. The image sensor is adapted to receive an optical image of an area adjacent the distal end of the elongated sleeve and is configured to transmit the optical image for viewing by a clinician.
