摘要: A temperature compensated constant voltage battery charging algorithm charges batteries quickly and safely. Charging algorithms also include methods to recondition batteries after storage and to correct cell imbalances in a battery pack. A battery charger able to perform these functions is also disclosed.

摘要: A multi-cell battery in which a plurality of electrochemical cells are disposed in a battery case. The battery case includes one or more partitions which divide the interior of the case into a plurality of cell compartments that house the electrochemical cells. The battery case includes at least one gas channel have a tortuous pathway designed to trap electrolyte which may escape from the cell compartments. A unique battery terminal may be molded into the battery case.

摘要: A secondary redox flow battery having a charge capacity and an efficiency includes an anode half-cell and a cathode half-cell having a fluid-containing vessel defining a cavity in which is disposed an electrode and a catholyte. The catholyte consists of a solvent, at least two cation species, and an anionic transition metal complex. The catholyte cation species are selected from the group consisting of Group I element ions, Group II element ions and ammonium ions. The battery also includes a reservoir fluidly communicating with the cavity and a separator ionically communicating between the anode half-cell and the cathode half-cell. The battery is capable of a discharge current equal to or greater than 20 milliamperes/cm2.

摘要: A multi-cell battery comprising a housing having one or more partitions dividing the housing into a plurality of regions. A dielectric material lines the surfaces of the housing within each of the regions and an electrochemical cell is disposed within each of the regions. The housing is used as a heat sink to draw heat away from the individual electrochemical cells during operation.
