Abstract: A battery packaging material includes a laminate that includes at least a base material layer, a metal layer, an insulating layer, and a sealant layer laminated in this order. The insulating layer is formed of a resin composition containing a modified polyolefin resin modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or acid anhydride thereof and has a hardness, when measured by using a nanoindenter and pressing an indenter 5 μm into the insulating layer from a cross-section of the laminate in the laminating direction thereof, that ranges from 10 MPa to 300 MPa. In the sealant layer, an elastic modulus, when measured by using a nanoindenter and pressing an indenter 5 μm into the sealant layer from a cross-section of the laminate in the laminating direction thereof, ranges from 100 MPa to 1000 MPa.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a battery pack to power an electric vehicle are provided. The battery pack can include a plurality of battery modules having a plurality of battery blocks. The battery blocks can include a plurality of cylindrical battery cells. A first current collector can include a conductive layer to couple the first current collector with positive terminals of the plurality of cylindrical battery cells. A second current collector can include a conductive layer to couple the second current collector with negative terminals of the plurality of cylindrical battery cells. The first current collector, second current collector, and an isolation layer can include a plurality of apertures to expose the positive terminals of the plurality of cylindrical battery cells. The positive terminals can extend through the plurality of apertures to couple with the conductive layer of the first current collector.

The housing may include a circumferential indentation proximate the first end. The housing may define a first interior region between the first end and the circumferential indentation, and the housing may define a second interior region between the circumferential indentation and the second end. The batteries may include a set of electrodes located within the housing. The set of electrodes may be positioned within the second interior region of the housing. The batteries may include a cap at least partially contained within the first interior region of the housing. The batteries may also include a first insulator positioned within the housing. The first insulator may extend across the circumferential indentation from the cap to the set of electrodes.

Abstract: A battery includes an electrode body having a positive electrode and a negative electrode and also includes an exterior case for receiving the electrode body. An insulation film for isolating the exterior case and the electrode body from each other is placed between an inner wall surface of the exterior case and the electrode body. The insulation film has a bag-like shape in which the electrode body is inserted. The bag-like insulation film has a gap filling section on its surface facing a side surface of the electrode body, and the gap filling section closes a gap between the electrode body and the inner wall surface of the exterior case.

Abstract: A thin film solid state battery configured with barrier regions formed on a flexible substrate member and method. The method includes forming a bottom thin film barrier material overlying and directly contacting a surface region of a substrate. A first current collector region can be formed overlying the bottom barrier material and forming a first cathode material overlying the first current collector region. A first electrolyte can be formed overlying the first cathode material, and a second current collector region can be formed overlying the first anode material. The method also includes forming an intermediary thin film barrier material overlying the second current collector region and forming a top thin film barrier material overlying the second electrochemical cell. The solid state battery can comprise the elements described in the method of fabrication.

Abstract: A packaging material for a power storage device having a structure including at least a substrate layer, an adhesive layer, a metal foil layer, a sealant adhesive layer, and a sealant layer laminated in this order. In the packaging material, the substrate layer is formed of a polyester film having a 50% elongation stress in the range of 100 to 180 MPa and a thermal shrinkage in the range of 1 to 15%, after heat treatment from 160° C. to 200° C., or a polyester film having a difference ΔA in break elongation of 12% or more after heat treatment at 200° C. and 160° C. and having a 50% elongation stress of 75 MPa or more after heat treatment at 200° C.

Abstract: The invention discloses an anti-explosive easy-to-disassemble safe adhesive tape and a manufacturing method thereof. The adhesive tape comprises a flame-retardant, current-conducting, heat-conducting and heat-expansion pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, a flame-retardant, current-conducting, heat-conducting and extensible viscosity-losing layer, a flame-retardant, current-conducting, heat-conducting and heat-expansion pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and a release material layer which are overlapped in sequence. By adopting the adhesive tape disclosed in the invention, a plurality of battery packs can be combined together to increase the capacity or voltage. If an automobile encounters a collision, the material of the adhesive tape is collided and heated, and then expands instantly in order to effectively separate each battery module, and avoid greater damage.
