Abstract: The present invention features a novel EGFR variant, EGFRvVI, and methods for detecting the novel EGFR variant. The novel EGFR variant is preferentially expressed in some cancers. Methods for detecting EGFRvVI may aid in the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic assessment of a subject.
