    摘要: An electrical connector assembly includes an electrical connector and the pick-up cap assembled upon the housing of the electrical connector. A plurality of contacts are disposed in the housing and covered by the pick-up cap. The pick-up cap includes a pair of first side walls, and the housing includes a pair of first side faces corresponding to the pair of corresponding first side walls. Each first side face forms a pair of locking recesses. Each first side wall includes an operation section and a pair of latches. The operation section includes a cavity in the first side wall and a raised section above the cavity. Each latch includes a spring arm, and a hook located at the end of the spring arm and engaged within the corresponding locking recess. The latch is located within the boundary of the housing without extending beyond the corresponding side face.

    摘要: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways extending through opposite upper and lower surfaces of the housing. A plurality of electrical contacts are received within the corresponding passageways, respectively. Each contact includes a first main body and a second main body side by side arranged with each other with a bridge transversely linked therebetween. At least one of the first main body and the second main body includes a retaining barb for retaining contact in the passageway. Two soldering pads are formed on the corresponding bottom ends of the first main body and the second main body, respectively. The two soldering pads intimately confront each other either in a horizontal direction or in a vertical direction, and are joined together via a solder ball located under the two soldering pads.

    摘要: A contact unit for use within a connector includes a primary piece essentially composed of an upper part and a lower part coupled with each other.     摘要: An electrical connector for connection between the CPU and the PCB includes an insulative housing, an insulative plate below the housing and a plurality of contacts retained to the housing and the plate. The housing forms a receiving cavity for receiving the CPU, and the plate forms a mounting face confronting the PCB. Each contact includes an upper part and a lower part discrete and independent from each other. The upper part includes an upward resilient arm extending into the receiving cavity for mechanically and electrically connecting to the CPU, and a bottom connecting section. The lower part includes a downward resilient arm extending toward the PCB for mechanically and electrically connecting to the PCB, and a top connecting section. The bottom connecting section and the top connecting section are mechanically and electrically connected to each other.

The housing forms opposite mating surface and mounting surface, and a plurality of signal contact passageways and ground contact passageways extending therethrough to receive the signal contacts and ground contacts therein. All the mating surface, the mounting surface and the set of interior surfaces of each signal contact passageway and each ground contact passageway are plated/coated with corresponding metal layers while some dividing structures are formed on the mating surface and the mounting surface so as to electrically separate the metal layers of the signal contact passageways from those of the ground contact passageways.
